Morel Hybrid

Morel Hybrid is a fifth-generation car speaker range built around hand-crafted Acuflex silk dome tweeters, Hexatech aluminium voice coils and hybrid ferrite/neodymium magnet motors. Available from £329, it suits listeners who want accurate, natural-sounding audio in a properly engineered component or coaxial system.

The range covers complete 2-way and 3-way component sets, point-source Integra coaxials, individual woofers, tweeters and midrange drivers, and matching passive crossovers — giving you the flexibility to build or upgrade a Hybrid system to suit your vehicle.

Which Morel Hybrid should I choose?

If your vehicle has a single speaker opening per door, the Hybrid Integra coaxials (42, 52 or 62) are the straightforward choice — select the size that matches your location. If your car also has a dedicated tweeter mounting point, a 2-way component set (Hybrid 42, 52 or 62) gives better stereo imaging, with the woofer in the door and the tweeter positioned at ear level. For a full 3-way setup in a 6.5" location, the Hybrid 63 adds a CDM700 midrange driver and uses MXR300.4 crossovers.

If you want to build a bespoke system or replace individual drivers, the MW Mk2 woofers, MT300 tweeters, CDM700 midranges and MXR crossovers are all available to buy separately.

Morel Hybrid FAQs

Q: What is the difference between the Hybrid component speakers and the Hybrid Integra coaxials?

A: The Hybrid Integra uses a point-source coaxial design with the tweeter mounted centrally within the woofer, making it ideal for single speaker openings. The Hybrid component sets (42, 52, 62 and 63) separate the woofer and tweeter so each can be positioned independently for better stereo imaging.

Q: What is included in a Morel Hybrid 2-way component set?

A: Each 2-way Hybrid set (42, 52 or 62) includes a pair of MW Mk2 woofers, a pair of MT300 tweeters and a pair of MXR240.4 passive crossovers. The 3-way Hybrid 63 also includes a pair of CDM700 midrange drivers and uses MXR300.4 crossovers instead.

Q: What is the difference between the Hybrid 62 and the Hybrid 63?

A: The Hybrid 62 is a 2-way system using MW6 Mk2 woofers and MT300 tweeters with MXR240.4 crossovers, rated at 140W RMS. The Hybrid 63 adds a CDM700 3.5-inch midrange driver for a 3-way setup and uses MXR300.4 crossovers instead.

Q: Can I buy Morel Hybrid drivers individually rather than as a complete set?

A: Yes — the MW4, MW5 and MW6 Mk2 woofers, MT300 tweeters, CDM700 midrange drivers, and MXR240.4 and MXR300.4 crossovers are all available separately, so you can build a system from scratch or replace a specific component.

Q: Can CEN fit Morel Hybrid speakers at their Nottingham workshop?

A: Yes, CEN's fitting workshop in Beeston, Nottingham can install Morel Hybrid speakers in your vehicle. Contact CEN to discuss your car and book an appointment.
