How to choose a car aerial
Check which connector your stereo uses: many Pioneer and Sony units take SMB, while others use Fakra. For the best DAB reception, a roof-mount antenna usually performs better than a glass-mount one, but a windscreen aerial avoids drilling. If you want to keep your existing FM aerial, a DAB splitter is the simplest option. Pair your aerial with a new head unit from our car stereos range.
Aerials & Antennas FAQs
Q: Do I need a new aerial for DAB?
A: Usually, yes. A dedicated DAB+ aerial gives the best digital reception, while a DAB splitter is a simpler way to let your existing aerial receive DAB.
Q: What is a Fakra connector?
A: Fakra is a coded push-fit connector used by many car manufacturers for radio, DAB and GPS antennas.
Q: Can CEN fit my aerial?
A: Yes. Our Beeston, Nottingham workshop can supply and fit glass-mount and roof-mount aerials alongside a new stereo.
