Soundproofing FAQs
Q: How much sound deadening do I need?
A: Around 1-1.5 square metres treats a pair of front door outer skins; a thorough full-car treatment runs 4-6 square metres. Sheet coverage is listed in each product's Specification tab.
Q: Where should I apply sound deadening first?
A: Front doors give the biggest gain for both road noise and audio quality, then boot floor and wheel arches. Aim for 60-80% coverage of each panel rather than total coverage.
Q: Does sound deadening improve audio quality?
A: Significantly — your door is effectively your speaker enclosure, and deadening turns a flexing panel into a solid one, so the speakers you already own produce cleaner, tighter bass.
Q: Why buy sound deadening from CEN?
A: We stock Dynamat, Silent Coat, Comfort Mat and Dodo Mat with genuine UK stock, and we fit deadening professionally from our Nottingham premises — usually alongside speaker installs when the panels are already off.
