Why professional fitting matters
A hardwired installation takes power from the vehicle's fuse box through a dedicated hardwire kit, so there is nothing plugged into your 12V socket and nothing on show. Cabling is routed behind trims and headlining, rear cameras are run cleanly to the tailgate, and the wiring is fused and voltage-protected so the camera can never flatten your battery. We work on everything from superminis to motorhomes, and we are careful around airbags, sensors and factory wiring — the things a rushed installation gets wrong.
Front, rear and 3-channel systems
A single front camera covers most incidents, a two-channel system adds a rear camera for tailgating and rear-end shunts, and a three-channel system adds an interior lens — the right choice for taxi, private hire and rideshare drivers. Will a hardwired dash cam drain my battery?
No — hardwire kits include a voltage cutoff that shuts the camera down before your battery is affected, and we set the threshold correctly for your vehicle during installation.
Can you fit a dash cam I bought elsewhere?
We prioritise fitting equipment supplied by CEN, because we can stand behind the whole job including the hardware. Get in touch and we will advise.
How long does installation take?
A front camera is typically around an hour; front and rear systems take longer depending on the vehicle. We will confirm when you book.
Do I need a particular SD card?
Yes — dash cams need high-endurance cards. We stock recommended Micro SD cards and will fit and format the right one with your camera.
