How to choose the right cable

Start by matching the connector at each end, then the length you need. For dash cams and Cellink products, choose the cable listed for your exact model. For amplifier power, size the cable to the amplifier's current draw and the length of the run; thicker cable (a lower AWG number) is needed for bigger amplifiers. Our power and distribution range has fuse holders and distribution blocks to finish the job.

Cables & Wiring FAQs

Q: What size amplifier wiring kit do I need?

A: Size the kit to the amplifier's power draw — as a guide, 8AWG suits smaller amplifiers, 4AWG mid-power systems, and 0AWG high-power builds. The amplifier's fuse rating is the reliable indicator.

Q: What is a line output converter?

A: It converts your factory stereo's speaker-level signal into the clean low-level RCA feed an amplifier needs — the standard way to add amplifiers and subwoofers while keeping the factory head unit.

Q: Do wiring kits include everything?

A: Complete kits include power and earth cable, an inline fuse, RCA signal leads and remote wire. Speaker cable and any vehicle-specific interfaces are chosen separately for the system.

Q: Why buy installation parts from CEN?

A: We spec wiring correctly for the system rather than selling generic bundles, stock quality brands, and install everything we sell from our Nottingham premises.

Q: What does AWG mean?

A: AWG is American Wire Gauge. The lower the number, the thicker the cable and the more current it can carry safely.

Q: Can I replace a single dash cam cable?

A: Yes. We stock replacement rear, interior and power cables for selected Viofo and BlackVue models. Check the title for compatibility.

Q: Can CEN fit the wiring for me?

A: Yes. Our Beeston, Nottingham workshop can supply and fit car audio wiring and dash cam hardwiring.
