Whether you drive a hatchback, a German saloon or a fully converted camper, the speakers, amplifier and tuning your vehicle left the factory with are almost always its weakest link — and putting that right costs less than most people expect. CEN supplies and installs car audio upgrades from our Nottingham premises, and everything we fit is genuine UK stock from brands we are authorised to sell.
Upgrade in stages — or go all in
Stage 1: speakers and sound deadening. Replacing the factory speakers with a quality set from Focal, Hertz, Morel or JL Audio is the biggest improvement per pound you can make to any vehicle. We pair speaker upgrades with Dynamat or Dodo Mat sound deadening, so your doors work with the new speakers instead of rattling against them.
Stage 2: add a plug and play DSP amplifier. A compact DSP amplifier from Match or Helix connects to your factory stereo with a vehicle-specific harness, corrects the factory sound digitally and gives your new speakers the clean power they deserve. Nothing is cut and everything is reversible, which makes this route ideal for lease and company vehicles.
Stage 3: the full system. Amplifiers, subwoofers and processors from Audison, JL Audio, Ground Zero, Helix and Brax — designed, installed and tuned as a complete system around your vehicle and the music you actually listen to.
Head unit and Apple CarPlay upgrades
If your dashboard is showing its age, a modern head unit transforms daily driving. We supply and fit the Alpine Halo9 and Halo11, Pioneer floating-screen stereos and a wide range of Kenwood and Sony units with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and DAB+ — retaining your steering wheel controls, parking sensors and reversing camera. Restoring a classic? Our RetroSound and Blaupunkt radios add Bluetooth and DAB behind a period-correct face.
Vans, campers and motorhomes
Van audio is one of the things we do most. The VW Transporter T5, T6 and T6.1, VW Crafter, Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter and Fiat Ducato all respond brilliantly to upgrades, and we regularly build systems for campervan and motorhome conversions where the vehicle is a living space as much as a workhorse. How long does an installation take?
A speaker upgrade is typically completed in a day. Full systems with amplifiers, subwoofers and deadening are quoted individually — we will give you a timescale with your quote.
