How to choose a mono amplifier

Match the amplifier's RMS output to your subwoofer's RMS rating at the final impedance of your wiring. A dual voice coil sub, or two subs, can be wired to a lower impedance, so check the amp is stable at that load. Compact amps fit under seats and behind panels, while larger units suit boot builds. If you are keeping a factory stereo, look for high-level inputs or add a line output converter. A bass remote lets you adjust sub level from the driver's seat.

Q: Can a mono amp power speakers?

A: Mono amps are designed for subwoofers. For door speakers, choose a 4-channel amplifier .

Q: What does "stable at 1 ohm" mean?

A: The amp can safely drive a 1 ohm load, which lets you wire subs for more output. Always check the minimum impedance in the listing.

Q: Can CEN fit my sub and amplifier?

A: Yes. CEN can supply and fit mono amplifiers, subwoofers and wiring at our Beeston, Nottingham workshop.
