Speakers
When choosing a set of speakers you will need to take into account a few factors such as size, depth, whether you’re pairing them with an amplifier and most importantly what level you’re trying to achieve. Car manufacturers do not tend to invest much into the stock audio system’s leaving the drivers of their cars left underwhelmed, by changing the speakers this will usually drastically improve sound quality meaning a clearer and crisper sound.
Speakers FAQs
Q: What size speakers fit my car?
A: Speaker diameters are standard — commonly 4", 5.25", 6.5" and 6x9" — but mounting depth and fitting rings vary by vehicle. Check the size in each product's Specification tab, or contact us with your registration and we'll confirm fitment and any adapters needed.
Q: Should I choose component or coaxial speakers?
A: Coaxials are the simple, cost-effective upgrade — everything in one unit, drop-in fitting. Component sets separate the tweeter and add a crossover for noticeably better imaging and detail, at the cost of more installation. If in doubt, coaxials for convenience, components for the best sound.
Q: Do I need an amplifier for new speakers?
A: Not necessarily — most aftermarket speakers run happily from a standard head unit. Component sets in particular reward clean amplifier power, and the RMS figure in each Specification tab tells you what they can use.
Q: Why buy car speakers from CEN?
A: We're an authorised UK reseller of every speaker brand we stock — including Focal, Hertz, Morel, Audison and JL Audio — with genuine UK stock, full warranty support, and professional installation including sound deadening from our Nottingham premises.
