Audison Voce II, the second generation of our iconic VOCE speakers, challenged us—to rethink how we design, test, and manufacture speakers. We’ve revamped materials, supply chains, assembly techniques, and packaging. Our goal was to “unlearn” to innovate and to “reinforce our expertise” where we knew we were on the right track. AV 3.0 II mid-range

The human auditory system is particularly sensitive to midrange frequencies, as this is where the voice becomes intelligible compared to the rest of the audio spectrum. Starting from this principle, the Audison R&D team designed the AV 3.0 II mid-range, with an ambitious goal: achieve extreme linearity. This means faithfully reproducing the signal without adding or hiding anything, highlighting every nuance of the sound, and ensuring an immersive, realistic listening experience.

Powerful motor for better performance

Both mid-range and mid-bass feature powerful magnetic motors, known for releasing large amounts of energy while maintaining exceptional thermal stability. The motor reveals a T-shaped pole piece incorporating an aluminum ring. This innovative addition minimizes distortion during high excursions and linearizes the frequency response for superior clarity and precision.
The geometry of the magnetic assembly was optimized using FEM (Finite Element Method) simulation software, allowing the magnetic field to be concentrated in the voice coil, improving efficiency and the precision of the sound response. This allows the drivers to deliver dynamic, distortion-free sound, even during complex and rapid music variations.

Minimum Inductance for an extended frequency response

A key area of research focused on reducing voice coil inductance modulation. By magnetically saturating the motor pole and using a coper short-circuit ring for mid-range and aluminum short-circuit ring mid-bass, greater extension towards the midrange frequencies was achieved.

Reduced by 20% in depth with no compromise in performance

A completely new motor layout delivers nearly 20% decrease in mounting depth – with no reduction in power handling, excursion, or low-end response. One way we delivered this is by using a voice-coil with a 30% greater diameter. Another advantage was gained by using a much higher-grade neodymium magnet, delivering more magnetic strength in a smaller package than before.

OEM and faston connectors for perfect integration

AV 3.0 II offers dual connection options, providing flexibility and versatility. Woofer and coaxial are equipped with both an OEM-style automotive connector and traditional Faston connectors. This option allows the installer to choose the connection method best suited to the specific project’s needs. The availability of both connections simplifies and streamlines the installation process. Thanks to this feature, installers can work more efficiently without constraints, ensuring optimal results in both sound performance and vehicle integration. The dual connection option represents another step toward customization and adaptability, meeting the needs of every car audio enthusiast.
