6.5-inch / 165mm — the modern standard for front and rear doors, and where ranges like Focal's Slatefiber 165 SF concentrate their best engineering. 6x9-inch — the classic oval for parcel shelves and some doors, with extra cone area for fuller bass. 5.25-inch and 4-inch — smaller doors, dashboards and rears. Tweeters — the small high-frequency drivers in A-pillars, sails or dash corners, sold separately in component kits.
Why "what fits" isn't the whole question
Two cars with 6.5-inch apertures can need different mounting depths, brackets and connectors — a speaker that fits the hole but fouls the window mechanism is a bad afternoon.
