Which AudioControl amplifier should I choose?

The EPIC Series is AudioControl's most accessible line, with compact Class D designs suited to straightforward installs. The five mono EPIC models scale from 750 W to 4000 W RMS at 1 ohm and all include EPICBoost variable bass boost and an Epicenter Link connection; the EPICFOUR, EPICBIGFOUR and EPICFIVE add multi-channel capability for driving speakers alongside a subwoofer. The LC Series is built specifically for factory (OEM) head unit integration — every LC model carries speaker-level inputs and AccuBASS processing to recover bass rolled off by factory systems. Choose the LC-1.800 or LC-1.1500 for a dedicated subwoofer channel, or the LC-4.800, LC-5.1300 or LC-6.1200 to power both speakers and a subwoofer from a single amplifier.

The D-4.800 adds a built-in Matrix DSP to a four-channel amp, removing the need for a separate processor. The ACX Series (ACX-300.1 and ACX-300.2) are IPX6-rated for boats, UTVs, motorcycles and other exposed environments. The ACM Series (ACM-1.300 and ACM-4.300) are micro-format amplifiers with speaker-level inputs, ideal where installation space is tight.

AudioControl Amplifiers FAQs

Q: What is AccuBASS and which AudioControl amplifiers include it?

A: AccuBASS is AudioControl's patented processing that restores bass frequencies rolled off by factory head units. It is featured on all LC Series models, the D-4.800 and the ACM-1.300.

Q: What is the difference between the EPIC Series and the LC Series?

A: The EPIC Series uses Class D technology for compact, high-power output and is rated at 1-ohm or 2-ohm stability, while the LC Series is designed specifically for OEM integration with speaker-level inputs and AccuBASS processing on every model.

Q: Do any AudioControl amplifiers come with a remote bass knob included?

A: Yes — all five EPIC mono amplifiers (EPIC750, EPIC1000, EPIC1500, EPIC2000 and EPIC4000) include an ACR-E remote bass knob in the box, as does the EPICFIVE 5-channel model.

Q: Are there AudioControl amplifiers suitable for marine or outdoor installations?

A: Yes — the ACX-300.1 (mono) and ACX-300.2 (2-channel) are both IPX6-rated all-weather amplifiers designed for boats, UTVs, motorcycles and other open-air environments.

Q: Can CEN fit an AudioControl amplifier in my vehicle?

A: Yes — CEN's fitting workshop in Beeston, Nottingham can professionally install AudioControl amplifiers as part of a full car audio upgrade.
