The Thinkware U3000 Pro is a flagship hardwire front and rear dash cam from Thinkware's U3000 range, recording 4K UHD at the front and 2K QHD at the rear on Sony STARVIS 2 sensors, with Dual HDR, Super Night Vision 4.0, built-in radar, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is supplied with a 12V hardwire power cable for 24/7 parking surveillance.

This listing is the U3000 Pro (hardwire version). The U3000 range is also available as the standard Thinkware U3000.

Hardwire Version

The U3000 Pro uses Sony STARVIS 2 sensors and HDR in both front and rear cameras for clear footage day or night, whether driving or parked.

Real 4K Front Recording, Real 2K Rear Recording

The U3000 Pro's front camera uses the Sony IMX678 (STARVIS 2) sensor and the rear uses the IMX675 (STARVIS 2), delivering sharp 4K and 2K resolution. Key details such as number plates remain readable at speed and on reflective surfaces.

Dual HDR

Both the front and rear cameras apply High Dynamic Range (HDR) processing, balancing exposure across light and dark areas simultaneously to preserve detail in glare, shadows and sudden lighting changes.

Wide Dynamic Range

Enhances image clarity by adjusting colour balance in bright or shadowed environments.

CPL Filter

A Circular Polarising (CPL) Filter is included to reduce glare and reflections.

The Thinkware U3000 Pro is the hardwire flagship of the U3000 range. The front records 4K UHD at 30fps or 2K QHD at 60fps through an 8.4MP Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor, and the rear records 2K QHD through a 5.14MP STARVIS 2 IMX675. HDR runs on both cameras while driving, with built-in radar, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Who it suits

Drivers who want the strongest Thinkware footage front and rear, day and night, with radar-based parking mode and speed and red light camera alerts. It can add an optional interior infrared camera for three channels. The standard U3000 shares the 4K front camera.

Q: What SD card do I need for this dash cam?

A: Use a high-endurance microSD card designed for continuous recording. Standard cards wear out quickly in dash cams. CEN stocks suitable high-endurance cards, and the maximum supported capacity is listed in the Specification tab.

Q: Does this dash cam record while the car is parked?

A: Parking mode is listed in the Specification tab. Where supported, it requires constant power from either a hardwire kit or a dedicated dash cam battery pack, both of which CEN stocks.

Q: Do I need to hardwire the dash cam?

A: Not necessarily. All dash cams work from the 12V socket for drive recording. Hardwiring hides the cabling and enables parking mode, and CEN offers professional hardwire installation from our Nottingham premises.

Q: Will the footage be accepted by my insurer or the police?

A: Dash cam footage is widely used in insurance claims and can be submitted to most UK police forces through their online portals. Recording quality matters, so check the resolution in the Specification tab.

Q: Front only or front and rear - which should I choose?

A: A front camera covers the most common claim scenarios. A two-channel system adds rear coverage for rear-end collisions and tailgating evidence, which is where many disputed claims arise. Three-channel systems add an interior view, suited to taxi and fleet use.

Q: What resolution does the Thinkware U3000 PRO record in?

A: Yes. Parking Surveillance Mode includes smart, motion and impact detection, time lapse and energy saving modes, with built-in radar. It requires the hardwiring cable (included in this hardwire version) or an OBD II power cable, and professional installation is recommended.
