Dual Sony STARVIS 2 Sensors
A229 Plus is the industry's first dashcam using two Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 image sensors which offer 2.5 times wider dynamic range and higher light sensitivity than the STARVIS tech, bringing much less noise and motion blur during day & night recording.
HDR for Front & Rear Cameras
A229 Plus is outstanding in a wide range of lighting conditions, by virtue of the dual Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensors. Every captured footage is enhanced with a wider dynamic range to reveal more details in highlights and shadows. These flagship sensors, coupled with advanced HDR technology, balance extremely bright and dark areas to accurately restore 2K details recorded at night, even captures accurate license details in fast move from both front and rear recording.
Smart Voice Control & Notification
A229 Plus comes with an advanced voice control feature, which allows you to start/stop recording, take photos, and turn on/off WiFi with simple spoken commands in multiple languages (English/Chinese/Russian/Japanese). It can also clearly notifies you of settings changes or memory card errors, keeping you fully focused on the road.
Ultra Fast 5GHz Wi-Fi
An upgraded 5GHz Wi-Fi connection module is built into A229 Plus to provide much faster Wi-Fi data transfer, ensuring smooth video previewing, downloading and sharing.
Ultra-Precise GPS
A229 Plus features a state-of-the-art Quad-Mode GPS module which supports 4 satellite positioning systems, GPS, BEIDOU, GALILEO, and GLONASS, greatly improving positioning accuracy and stability. It provides detailed location, speed, and time data of the vehicle when playing back the video on VIOFO App or computer.
Loop Recording & Auto Emergency Lock
A229 Pro supports seamless loop recording and overwrites the oldest videos with the last ones. With the built-in G-sensor, the dashcam will automatically lock the footage in case of collision or crash, recreating the accident scene for your peace of mind.

Q: What SD card do I need for this dash cam?
A: Use a high-endurance microSD card designed for continuous recording. Standard cards wear out quickly in dash cams. CEN stocks suitable high-endurance cards, and the maximum supported capacity is listed in the Specification tab.
Q: Does this dash cam record while the car is parked?
A: Parking mode is listed in the Specification tab. Where supported, it requires constant power from either a hardwire kit or a dedicated dash cam battery pack, both of which CEN stocks.
Q: Do I need to hardwire the dash cam?
A: Not necessarily. All dash cams work from the 12V socket for drive recording. Hardwiring hides the cabling and enables parking mode, and CEN offers professional hardwire installation from our Nottingham premises.
Q: Will the footage be accepted by my insurer or the police?
A: Dash cam footage is widely used in insurance claims and can be submitted to most UK police forces through their online portals. Recording quality matters, so check the resolution in the Specification tab.
Q: Front only or front and rear - which should I choose?
A: A front camera covers the most common claim scenarios. A two-channel system adds rear coverage for rear-end collisions and tailgating evidence, which is where many disputed claims arise. Three-channel systems add an interior view, suited to taxi and fleet use.
