Redefined 4K clarity with dual HDR
The Elite 9-2CH uses Sony IMX678 STARVIS 2 in the front camera and IMX675 STARVIS 2 in the rear, recording at 3840×2160 and 2560×1440 respectively. HDR on both cameras delivers balanced exposure in bright sunlight and low light, while also reducing motion blur to keep number plates readable on moving vehicles.
The front camera uses an 8-element f/1.7 aperture lens for strong light-gathering performance. The rear uses a 7-element f/2.0 aperture lens for a good balance of depth of field and low-light capability. Field of view is 146° (front) and 142° (rear) with minimal distortion.
The best daily protection with pre-event recording
Motion Detection records a 1-minute buffered video whenever movement is detected by the front or rear camera. Detection areas can be set manually in the app.
Time Lapse records continuously at 1 frame per second, so each 1-minute video covers 30 minutes of real time — useful if you regularly park in busy areas.
Comprehensive event detection
The built-in G-Sensor and GPS detect and record driving impacts, parking impacts, sudden acceleration, hard braking, sharp turns, and overspeeding.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What SD card do I need for this dash cam?
A: Use a high-endurance microSD card designed for continuous recording. Standard cards wear out quickly in dash cams. CEN stocks suitable high-endurance cards, and the maximum supported capacity is listed in the Specification tab.
Q: Does this dash cam record while the car is parked?
A: Parking mode is listed in the Specification tab. Where supported, it requires constant power from either a hardwire kit or a dedicated dash cam battery pack, both of which CEN stocks.
Q: Do I need to hardwire the dash cam?
A: Not necessarily. All dash cams work from the 12V socket for drive recording. Hardwiring hides the cabling and enables parking mode, and CEN offers professional hardwire installation from our Nottingham premises.
Q: Will the footage be accepted by my insurer or the police?
A: Dash cam footage is widely used in insurance claims and can be submitted to most UK police forces through their online portals. Recording quality matters, so check the resolution in the Specification tab.
Q: Front only or front and rear - which should I choose?
A: A front camera covers the most common claim scenarios. A two-channel system adds rear coverage for rear-end collisions and tailgating evidence, which is where many disputed claims arise. Three-channel systems add an interior view, suited to taxi and fleet use.
Q: What resolution does the Elite 9-2CH record at?
A: The front camera records 4K UHD (3840x2160) and the rear camera 2K QHD (2560x1440), both at 30fps with HDR.
Q: Which sensors does the Elite 9 use?
A: A Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 in the front camera and a Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 in the rear camera.
Q: Does it work with BlackVue Cloud?
A: Yes. It is Cloud compatible via the optional LTE Connectivity Module or a third-party Wi-Fi hotspot. Cloud data is not included.
