iVolt Pro external battery BAB-95
The iVolt Pro extends the Parking Surveillance mode of your Thinkware dash cam without touching the vehicle's own battery.
The benefits of using a dash cam battery pack
The 8.5A high-speed charging means the iVolt Pro can deliver up to 27 hours of parking mode recording from around a 50-minute charge. Maximum recording time will vary depending on the Thinkware dash cam in use.
Two iVolt Pro units can be installed in parallel to double the available capacity.
Compatible with all Thinkware dash cam models.
Do I need to use a dash cam battery pack?
Thinkware dash cams can be powered in several different ways.
All Thinkware dash cams include a built-in voltmeter and battery protection settings to prevent a flat vehicle battery. These work alongside a hardwiring cable or OBD-II harness to protect your battery during parking mode.
If you want extended parking footage, have a luxury vehicle, or a smaller vehicle battery, the iVolt Pro is the better solution.
Extended Parking Mode
When hardwired, a dash cam will typically record in parking mode for around 8 hours (depending on the vehicle battery and voltage cut-off setting) before powering down. With the iVolt Pro, a 1-channel dash cam runs for 27 hours and a 2-channel setup for 16 hours before the pack needs recharging.
Safe for luxury vehicles
On vehicles such as BMWs, battery drain can mean not just a replacement battery but also a costly dealership visit to reset the vehicle's electronics. Using the iVolt Pro means Advanced Parking Mode runs entirely from the battery pack, with no risk to the vehicle's battery.
Avoid wear and tear
A hardwired dash cam continuously discharges the vehicle battery, which causes wear over time. The iVolt Pro only draws power from the vehicle to recharge while you are driving. With the ignition off, the dash cam runs solely from the iVolt Pro — the vehicle's battery is never used.

About the Thinkware BAB-95
From our tech experts at CEN
The Thinkware iVolt Pro (BAB-95) is a 7,500mAh (96Wh) LiFePO4 external battery pack that powers Thinkware dash cams in parking mode without drawing on the vehicle battery. A 1-channel dash cam runs for up to 27 hours from a single charge; a 2-channel setup for up to 16 hours. High-speed charging takes approximately 50 minutes while you drive.
Who it suits
Drivers wanting extended parking surveillance beyond what a hardwired connection to the vehicle battery provides will benefit most. It is particularly useful for luxury vehicles, where battery drain can require a costly dealership reset. Two iVolt Pro units can be installed in parallel to double the available capacity.
Our tech experts advise
The unit measures 155 x 216 x 34mm and weighs approximately 1.5kg, so plan your mounting location before fitting. It is compatible with all Thinkware dash cam models and recharges only while the ignition is on, so the vehicle battery is untouched during parking. A separate hardwiring cable is required — see our Thinkware Dash Cam Hardwiring Cable.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this accessory compatible with my dash cam?
A: Dash cam accessories are generally model-specific. The compatible camera models are listed in the product description, and you can contact CEN to confirm compatibility before ordering.
Q: What does a hardwire kit do?
A: A hardwire kit powers your dash cam directly from the vehicle's fusebox, hiding the cable and enabling parking mode. Kits include battery protection so your car battery is never drained below a safe level.
Q: Why would I add a dash cam battery pack?
A: A battery pack powers parking mode for longer periods without drawing on your car battery at all. It charges while you drive and is the recommended option for extended parking protection.
Q: Can CEN fit this accessory?
A: Yes. CEN offers professional dash cam and accessory installation from our Nottingham premises. Contact us to book.
Q: How long will the iVolt Pro power my Thinkware dash cam in parking mode?
A: Up to approximately 27 hours with a 1-channel dash cam (based on 3.5Wh consumption) and around 16 hours with a 2-channel dash cam. Actual time varies by dash cam model.
Q: How quickly does the iVolt Pro recharge?
A: In high-speed mode (14.2V/8.5A) it recharges in approximately 50 minutes of driving, or approximately 90 minutes in normal mode (14.2V/4.5A).
Q: Is a hardwire cable included with the iVolt Pro?
A: No. The box contains the iVolt Pro BAB-95 battery, an input cable, an output cable and the instruction manual. The dash cam hardwire cable is sold separately.
