Match M 2FX 2-channel Class GD miniature amplifier

The M 2FX pairs minimal dimensions with high power output and broad versatility. It works as a stand-alone amplifier for demanding speaker systems or as a power source for subwoofer applications. Its load stability makes it particularly well suited to driving subwoofers with 2 x 2 Ω impedance.

Class GD technology delivers excellent sound quality alongside high efficiency. Low heat dissipation means it can be installed in tight or hidden locations that conventional amplifiers simply cannot fit.

It is designed as a partner for the five-channel M 5DSP from the Match portfolio.

Features

  • Ultra-compact 2-channel Class GD amplifier
  • Excellent sound quality combined with maximum efficiency
  • Particularly stable under load — ideal for driving subwoofers with 2 x 2 Ω impedance
  • Integrated active crossover with high-pass and low-pass filters
  • Line input and high-level inputs with ADEP circuitry
  • Automatic remote switch

Class GD amplifier technology

Audiotec Fischer's Class GD concept combines Class G technology with Class D principles, achieving efficiency that surpasses conventional Class D amplifiers. At low and medium output levels the internal supply voltage of the power stages varies with the amplitude of the input signal, minimising power dissipation. The result is an exceptionally compact amplifier suited to concealed installs.

Intelligent high-level input

Modern factory head units actively diagnose connected speakers. Connecting an amplifier in their place can trigger error messages or cause functions such as the fader to stop working. The ADEP (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection) circuit prevents these issues without placing unnecessary load on the head unit's speaker outputs at high volume.

Start-stop capability

The M 2FX's power supply maintains a stable internal voltage even during brief dips down to 6 V, keeping the amplifier fully operational during engine start events.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I choose the right amplifier for my speakers or subwoofer?

A: Match the amplifier's RMS output per channel to the RMS handling of your speakers or subwoofer at the same impedance. The Specification tab lists the power figures. If in doubt, contact CEN with your setup and we will recommend a match.

Q: What wiring do I need to install this amplifier?

A: You will need an amplifier wiring kit sized to the amplifier's power draw, typically including power and earth cable, a fuse, RCA leads and a remote wire. CEN stocks complete wiring kits, and the amplifier's fuse rating is the guide to the cable gauge required.

Q: What class of amplifier is this and does it matter?

A: Class D amplifiers are compact and efficient, ideal for subwoofers and modern installs. Class AB designs are traditionally favoured for outright sound quality on mid and high frequencies. The class is listed in the Specification tab where provided.

Q: Will an amplifier work with my factory head unit?

A: Yes, in most cases. If your head unit has no RCA outputs you will need a line output converter to feed the amplifier a clean signal. CEN stocks line output converters and can advise the right one for your vehicle.

Q: Can CEN install this amplifier?

A: Yes. CEN offers professional amplifier installation from our Nottingham premises, including secure mounting, wiring and setup. Contact us to book.

Q: How much power does the MATCH M 2FX deliver?

A: The M 2FX delivers 2 x 125 W RMS (2 x 250 W max) into 4 ohms and 2 x 220 W RMS (2 x 440 W max) into 2 ohms.

Q: Can the M 2FX be connected to a factory radio without RCA outputs?

A: Yes. It has two high-level speaker inputs with ADEP circuitry and automatic turn-on, so it can be fed straight from factory speaker wires. It also has a stereo line input (2 x RCA to 3.5 mm jack lead included).

Q: Does the M 2FX have a crossover for a subwoofer?

A: Yes. It has an integrated active crossover switchable between high-pass and low-pass, adjustable from 15 Hz to 150 Hz with a 12 dB/octave slope.

Q: What's in the box with the MATCH M 2FX?

A: The M 2FX amplifier, a 0.20 m line input cable (2 x RCA to 3.5 mm jack), mounting hardware and the user manual.
