The ESB 8.6K3 is a 6.5 inch 3-way component speaker system from ESB Audio's Ottomila Series, rated at 160W RMS. It combines 8.165 6.5 inch mid-woofers, 8.075 3 inch cone midranges and 8.028 1.1 inch Torcon® soft dome tweeters, with CNC-machined parts throughout.

8.028 1.1"/28 mm Dome Tweeter

Every component of the 8.028 tweeter is CNC-machined, ensuring perfect geometry and consistent build quality. Materials include brass, stainless steel and Avional aluminium.

A large vented neodymium motor magnet, optimised via FEA simulation, delivers high efficiency and improved linearity throughout the voice coil's excursion. The high-grade neodymium magnet minimises magnetic loss at elevated temperatures.

The Torcon® soft dome uses an exclusive Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) with high-performance fibre for excellent heat resistance, low weight and strong self-damping. The semi-catenary diaphragm profile maximises stiffness at the dome tip, delivering clean, smooth and transparent reproduction from 940 Hz to 25 kHz.

A centre ventilation hole cools the moving coil under high power, reduces air compression behind the dome and lowers distortion. A special acoustic resistance controls tweeter Qts, while dB Cloth® under-dome damping neutralises residual resonance and extends low-frequency response.

8.165 6.5"/165 mm Mid-Woofer

The Y35 ferrite magnet motor is FEA-optimised for symmetrical magnetic flux in both directions of cone travel. CNC-machined motor parts maximise flux linearity and reduce magnetic loss, keeping distortion low at high power levels.

A 32.4 mm double layer voice coil wound on an aluminium former delivers exceptional power handling and compression-free reproduction.

The non-pressed cellulose pulp exponential cone has a vinylester resin coating, balancing rigidity, weight and self-damping. An aluminium dust cap fixed directly to the voice coil former extends and linearises the upper bandwidth.

The CNC aluminium basket (LE model only) reduces cone back reflections and increases torsional rigidity, improving efficiency, power handling and distortion figures. The exclusive TSW (Twin Symmetrical Wave) rubber surround maximises travel linearity and reliability in extreme conditions. An axial ventilation system aids thermal dissipation, while the large Conex™ spider manages excursion across its full range. The terminal accepts very large gauge cables.

8.075 3"/75 mm Cone Midrange

The neodymium magnet motor is FEA-optimised for symmetrical magnetic flux in both directions of cone travel. CNC-machined motor parts maximise flux linearity and minimise magnetic loss.

A 25.5 mm CCAW (copper clad aluminium wire) double layer voice coil wound on an aluminium former provides excellent power handling and compression-free reproduction.

The non-pressed cellulose pulp exponential cone uses a vinylester resin coating for a balance of rigidity, weight and self-damping, with natural, linear reproduction across all musical passages. An aluminium dust cap fixed to the voice coil former linearises the upper bandwidth.
