1.1"/28 mm Dome Tweeter
All the parts that make up this tweeter have been made with the CNC process. This is a very expensive and time consuming manufacturing process, but ensures perfect geometry and impeccable aesthetics. A mix of precious materials such as brass, stainless steel and Avional aluminum are used together for a unique product.
The tweeter uses a very large vented neodymium motor magnet optimized with computer simulations (FEA) to obtain great efficiency and improved linearity all along the voice coil’s excursion. The neodymium magnet is of a high-grade to neutralize magnetic loss at elevated temperatures and concentrate more force in less volume.
The Torcon® soft dome, an exclusive Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) with a high-performance fiber, offers superb heat resistance, low weight, excellent self-damping, to obtain a free resonance frequency response above the audible range. The semi-catenary profile on our diaphragm provides maximum stiffness at the tip of the dome. The result is clean, smooth and transparent sound reproduction with high efficiency from 940Hz to 25KHz with high power handling capacity.
The center ventilation hole provides an optimal cooling of the moving coil to handle high power without dynamic compression, while at the same time, reducing the compression of the air at the back of the dome with a great reduction of distortion and extended response to lower frequencies. A special acoustic resistance helps control the tweeter Qts. Residual resonance is neutralized by the dB Cloth® under-dome damping material which extends the frequency response to the lower limits and reduces harmonic distortion.

6.5"/165 mm Mid-Woofer
The Y35 ferrite magnet motor is optimized with FEA simulation to ensure a perfectly symmetrical magnetic flux in both directions of cone’s run. Motor metal parts are CNC machined from solid, refined material for maximum magnetic flux linearity and minimum magnetic loss. This reduces distortion at high power levels.
The 32.4 mm double layer voice coil is wound on an aluminum former for exceptional power handling and compression-free reproduction, even for the most demanding musical passages.
Non pressed cellulose pulp exponential cone with a vinylester resin coating ensures a perfect balance between rigidity, weight, and self-damping. The cellulose pulp guarantees an extremely natural and linear reproduction in all musical passages with an excellent extension at high frequencies without audible break-up. An aluminum dust cup fixed directly on the voice coil former increases and linearizes the extreme top of the bandwidth.
The CNC (LE model only) aluminum basket ensures a drastic reduction of the cone’s back reflections and a greater torsional rigidity. High structural and torsional rigidity for perfect parts alignment requires very tight tolerances in the construction and assembling system. This results in better efficiency, more power handling and less distortion.
The exclusive TSW (Twin Symmetrical Wave) rubber surround offers maximum linearity of travel and high reliability in extreme conditions. The axial ventilation system ensures high thermal dissipation capacity, power handling and reliability. The large Conex™ spider allows a smooth and gentle run at low excursions and gently holds the cone at high excursions, thus increasing its useful range of use. The exclusive terminal connection design accepts very large gauge cables.

FAQs
Q: Will these speakers fit my car?
A: Most car speakers are standard sizes, but mounting depth and fitting rings vary by vehicle. Check the size in the Specification tab against your vehicle, or contact CEN with your registration and we will confirm fitment and any adapters or fitting kits you need.
Q: Do I need an amplifier to run these speakers?
A: Not always. Most speakers will run from a standard head unit, but a dedicated amplifier lets them perform at their best, particularly for component sets and higher power handling models. The RMS figure in the Specification tab is the guide to how much clean power they can use.
Q: What is the difference between coaxial and component speakers?
A: Coaxial speakers combine the tweeter and woofer in one unit for a simple like-for-like upgrade. Component sets separate the tweeter and woofer with a crossover for better imaging and detail, and suit installs where sound quality is the priority.
Q: Do these come as a pair?
A: Unless stated otherwise, car speakers are sold in pairs. Check the product title and What's Included tab, which lists exactly what is in the box.
Q: Can CEN fit these speakers for me?
A: Yes. CEN offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises. Contact us to book an installation slot or ask for a fitting quote.
