Option Audio AIR-F10 D2 Subwoofer

The AIR-F10 D2 is built for installs where space is tight but bass quality cannot be compromised. Its 6.8cm installation depth makes it straightforward to fit in doors, under seats or in shallow enclosures where a standard subwoofer simply will not fit.

The neodymium magnet keeps the unit lightweight without sacrificing efficiency, while the dual voice coil gives you wiring flexibility — run it at 1 ohm or 4 ohm to suit your amplifier.

About the Option Audio AIR-F10 D2

From our tech experts at CEN

The Option Audio AIR-F10 D2 is a 10 inch (25cm) shallow-mount, dual voice coil subwoofer rated at 300W RMS. At just 6.8cm installation depth, it uses a neodymium magnet and coated membrane to deliver bass in spaces where a standard sub will not fit. The dual voice coil (2 ohm + 2 ohm) can be wired to 1 ohm or 4 ohm to suit your amplifier. This listing is the driver only — no enclosure is included.

Who it suits

This sub suits anyone who wants strong bass output from a tight install — doors, under seats or shallow custom enclosures. If you need a smaller footprint, the AIR-F6 D2 6.5 inch flat sub at 150W RMS is worth considering.

Our tech experts advise

Check your amplifier's minimum impedance rating before wiring — at 1 ohm you draw maximum power, at 4 ohm the amp runs cooler. Allow adequate airspace behind the cone even in shallow builds. Installation pricing varies per vehicle; see our car audio installation page for fitting details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need an amplifier for this subwoofer?

A: Yes, unless it is an active (powered) subwoofer with a built-in amplifier. Passive subwoofers need an external amplifier matched to the RMS power and impedance shown in the Specification tab.

Q: What size enclosure does this subwoofer need?

A: The recommended enclosure volume is listed in the Specification tab where the manufacturer provides it. As a rule, sealed enclosures give tighter, more accurate bass while ported enclosures deliver more output. Contact CEN if you would like a recommendation for your build.

Q: What does RMS power mean?

A: RMS is the continuous power a subwoofer can handle, and it is the number that matters when matching an amplifier. Peak or max figures describe short bursts only. Match your amplifier output to the RMS rating in the Specification tab.

Q: Sealed or ported enclosure - which should I choose?

A: Sealed boxes are compact and produce tight, controlled bass suited to sound quality builds. Ported boxes are larger and produce more output at low frequencies, suited to those who want maximum impact. Either works well when built to the recommended volume.

Q: Can CEN build or supply an enclosure and fit everything?

A: Yes. CEN supplies enclosures and offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises, including amplifier wiring. Contact us to discuss your build.

Q: Can the AIR-F10 D2 be wired to 1 ohm or 4 ohms?

A: Yes. It has dual 2 ohm voice coils, which can be wired to give a 1 ohm or 4 ohm load to suit your amplifier.

Q: Does the AIR-F10 D2 come with an enclosure?

A: No. It is supplied as a single subwoofer chassis (driver only), ready to install in a suitable enclosure or space.

Q: How deep is the AIR-F10 D2?

A: It needs only 6.8cm of installation depth, making it suited to installations with limited space.
