Mosconi Pico 8|12 DSP

A compact, high-efficiency DSP amplifier built for seamless OEM integration and serious audio performance.

8 Channel Amplifier Class D Technology Up to 480 Watts @ 2 Ohm

Perfect OEM Integration

Powerful DSP amplifier optimised for factory radio use. Four analogue inputs, flexible routing, 3 x input EQ and delay. With 8 x 60 Watts ideal for active multi-way systems and extensive installations. Ready for the future with two digital inputs (SP-Dif and BT+) and two processed line outs.

Signal Controlled Power Supply

In contrast to Class G/H, the power supply is only switched on when required (high levels) and regulated depending on the power demand. Benefit: The quiescent current is between 250 mA and 450 mA (depending on the speaker circuitry). Especially interesting for electromobility and motorhomes.

Transducerless High-Speed PWM Power Amplifiers

High-efficiency PWM amplifiers with a very fast carrier frequency (> 2 MHz) enable HiRes audio transmission and the extremely small size. The modulation is done without DAC directly from the 96 kHz TDM signal of the DSP, thus the noise floor is close to zero and THD+N ~ 0.02 % / 1 W.

About the Mosconi MOSCONI PICO 8|12 DSP

From our tech experts at CEN

A 8-channel amplifier from Mosconi, with DSP built in, rated at 480w RMS.

Who it suits

Drivers whose speakers have outgrown the head unit. Mosconi is Italian-built and aimed squarely at people who tune systems properly.

Our tech experts advise

The processing is worth only what the tuning puts into it, which means measurements in the car rather than a preset. It needs a fused feed from the battery on the correct cable gauge. Installation is priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I choose the right amplifier for my speakers or subwoofer?

A: Match the amplifier's RMS output per channel to the RMS handling of your speakers or subwoofer at the same impedance. The Specification tab lists the power figures. If in doubt, contact CEN with your setup and we will recommend a match.

Q: What wiring do I need to install this amplifier?

A: You will need an amplifier wiring kit sized to the amplifier's power draw, typically including power and earth cable, a fuse, RCA leads and a remote wire. CEN stocks complete wiring kits, and the amplifier's fuse rating is the guide to the cable gauge required.

Q: What class of amplifier is this and does it matter?

A: Class D amplifiers are compact and efficient, ideal for subwoofers and modern installs. Class AB designs are traditionally favoured for outright sound quality on mid and high frequencies. The class is listed in the Specification tab where provided.

Q: Will an amplifier work with my factory head unit?

A: Yes, in most cases. If your head unit has no RCA outputs you will need a line output converter to feed the amplifier a clean signal. CEN stocks line output converters and can advise the right one for your vehicle.

Q: Can CEN install this amplifier?

A: Yes. CEN offers professional amplifier installation from our Nottingham premises, including secure mounting, wiring and setup. Contact us to book.

Q: How many channels does the Mosconi Pico 8|12 DSP have?

A: It has 8 amplified channels and a 12-channel DSP, with 4 x 2 Vrms line outputs and an optical digital output.

Q: Is the Pico 8|12 DSP suitable for electric vehicles and motorhomes?

A: Yes. Its signal-controlled power supply only switches on when required, giving a quiescent current of 250 to 450mA depending on the speaker circuitry.

Q: Will the Pico 8|12 DSP work with a factory radio?

A: Yes. It has balanced high level inputs up to 30V plus switchable high/low level inputs, with input EQ and delay for OEM integration.
