About the Kicker 46KMFC8
From our tech experts at CEN
The Kicker 46KMFC8 is an 8" flat-surface-mount tower coaxial speaker from Kicker's KM Marine range, sold as a pair in charcoal. Rated at 150W RMS and 4 ohms, it uses a UV-treated polypropylene woofer, a titanium tweeter, and ships with a seven-colour LED grill system and 316L stainless steel mounting hardware included.
Who it suits
These suit boat and personal watercraft owners who want robust tower speakers able to handle saltwater environments. ASTM B117 200-hour salt fog compliance confirms they are built for harsh marine conditions. For a complete system, pair them with the Kicker 46KMC5 marine source unit.
Our tech experts advise
The speakers mount flat to a tower surface; use the included inserts to angle the drivers 5° or 10° up or down before fixing in place. The through-mount wiring system keeps cabling tidy inside the tower. The LED grill runs seven colours as standard — add the optional KMLC remote (sold separately) to unlock 20 colours and 19 modes. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need an amplifier to run these speakers?
A: Not always. Most speakers will run from a standard head unit, but a dedicated amplifier lets them perform at their best, particularly for component sets and higher power handling models. The RMS figure in the Specification tab is the guide to how much clean power they can use.
Q: What is the difference between coaxial and component speakers?
A: Coaxial speakers combine the tweeter and woofer in one unit for a simple like-for-like upgrade. Component sets separate the tweeter and woofer with a crossover for better imaging and detail, and suit installs where sound quality is the priority.
Q: Do these come as a pair?
A: Unless stated otherwise, car speakers are sold in pairs. Check the product title and What's Included tab, which lists exactly what is in the box.
Q: Can CEN fit these speakers for me?
A: Yes. CEN offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises. Contact us to book an installation slot or ask for a fitting quote.
Q: Are the Kicker MSC65 speakers waterproof?
A: They are IP66 certified and meet or exceed ASTM standards for UV and salt/fog exposure, with corrosion-resistant waterproof connectors and 316L stainless mounting hardware.
Q: Do the MSC65 speakers have lights?
A: Yes. Integrated RGBW LED lighting is standard, letting you choose from a wide range of colours.
Q: Which grille colours come with the Kicker 51MSC65?
A: Both white and charcoal grilles are included in the box.
