The JL Audio ACP108LG-W3v3 is a complete amplified subwoofer system from the MicroSub+™ range, housing a single 8" 8W3v3-0.40 driver in a slot-ported, low-profile MDF enclosure powered by a built-in 250W DCD™ Class D amplifier. It is a ready-to-install bass solution compatible with factory and aftermarket head units.

Other MicroSub+™ sizes are available: ACP110LG-TW1 and ACP112LG-TW1. The standalone driver used in this system, the JL Audio 8W3V3-4, is also available separately.

DCD™ amplifier technology

The built-in DCD™ Class D amplifier combines direct power conversion with an ultra-high current output section, eliminating the conventional switching power supply. This allows it to extract maximum output from the ultra-low-impedance 8W3v3 driver with high efficiency.

Important: DCD™ amplified systems use very specific components. Never use a DCD™ amplifier or its companion driver(s) with non-DCD™ products. Doing so will void the warranty and may cause severe damage.

Enclosure design

The slot-ported enclosure is precisely tuned to the 8W3v3 driver. Extensive internal bracing allows thinner wall material, maximising internal volume relative to external size. The port wraps around two walls to achieve the low tuning frequency needed for strong bass extension, and flared port entry and exit points minimise airflow noise.

Integration and controls

The ACP108LG-W3v3 connects to OEM or aftermarket head units via RCA or high-level speaker inputs, with automatic turn-on via signal sensing or DC offset sensing. A variable frequency low-pass filter (50–200 Hz), output polarity control switch, and quick-disconnect power connector are all included. Adding the optional RBC-1 remote level control (sold separately) lets you adjust subwoofer level from the driver's seat.
