The DJI Osmo Action 6 combines a 1/1.1-inch square sensor, variable f/2.0–f/4.0 aperture and a 4-hour cold-resistant battery. Adaptive aperture control

The variable aperture lets the Osmo Action 6 respond naturally to changing light. At f/2.0 the sensor gathers more light for cleaner indoor or night footage. At f/4.0 bright outdoor scenes stay controlled without relying solely on shutter speed or ISO. Auto mode lets you set an aperture range and the camera adjusts within it, keeping exposure consistent across evening streets, interiors and open mountain trails.

Square sensor imaging and Custom mode

The 1/1.1-inch square sensor maintains detail in both vertical and horizontal framing. 4K Custom mode records a 3840 x 3840 image that can be cropped into multiple aspect ratios in post, giving editors flexibility across social media platforms. The 2.4µm-equivalent pixels and 13.5-stop dynamic range hold shadow detail while protecting highlights in backlit snow or midday surf.

Low-light and night-shooting enhancements

SuperNight video uses the larger sensor, f/2.0 aperture and improved noise reduction to keep detail cleaner in low-light scenes up to 4K/60fps. Night streets, indoor gatherings and dim trails retain colour without heavy grain. Starburst mode adds a controlled sparkle to point light sources such as street lamps or festival lights, without needing optical accessories.

Stabilised video with pro-grade colour

RockSteady 3.0 corrects vibration from handheld movement or rough terrain, while HorizonSteady keeps framing level up to 4K/60fps — useful for biking, skiing or helmet-mounted shots. 2x lossless zoom tightens framing in 4K without losing resolution. Natural Wide FOV broadens the angle while reducing vertical stretch for travel footage and vlogs.

10-bit D-Log M preserves tonal structure for colour grading and includes an on-screen preview to gauge contrast in real time. Native 4K/120fps enables clean slow-motion playback, and 32x Super Slow Motion at 1080p captures fast impacts and direction changes. Film Tone presets add a quick stylistic finish in-camera.

Audio capture with OsmoAudio

OsmoAudio direct microphone connection links two DJI microphone transmitters without a receiver, simplifying audio setup on bikes, motorbikes or handheld rigs. The built-in three-mic array records stereo ambience alongside speech, with noise-reduction algorithms to cut wind intrusion. An onboard backup track provides ambient audio for greater flexibility when mixing environmental sound with voice.

Connectivity, transfer and livestreaming

Wi-Fi 6.0 offers wireless transfers up to 80MB/s; USB 3.1 reaches up to 300MB/s for fast offloading. Timecode synchronises multiple cameras in multi-angle shoots. A GPS Bluetooth Remote Controller can be connected for camera control and GPS-based data overlays. Wi-Fi livestreaming is available via the Mimo app.
