DJI’s Mini 5 Pro is equipped with a 50MP 1-inch CMOS sensor and an f1.8 aperture, delivering high-quality aerial imaging in a compact body. The large sensor is enhanced by a new image-processing technology and intelligent algorithms, which preserve details in low-light conditions. The Mini 5 Pro supports 4K/60fps HDR video with up to 14 stops of dynamic range, preserving detail in both highlights and shadows for cinematic results. For high-action scenes, 4K/120fps slow-motion adds fluid clarity, while 10-bit H.265 encoding ensures refined colour grading in post-production.

With support for D-Log M and HLG modes, as well as high ISO performance up to 3200 in colour modes, footage retains depth and detail even in nightscapes or complex lighting conditions. The raised ISO ceiling of 12800 ensures crisp results in low-light conditions, while the 48mm Med-Tele mode with 2x zoom adds depth and clarity to portraits and landscapes.

The DJI Mini 5 Pro reinforces safety with nightscape omnidirectional obstacle sensing. Forward-facing LiDAR, combined with multiple vision sensors and 3D infrared detection, covers forward, backwards, upward, and lateral directions, as well as the underside of the aircraft. This allows the Mini 5 Pro to actively avoid obstacles in both daylight and low-light conditions. Features such as Nighttime RTH and Non-GNSS RTH ensure confident returns, even when satellite signals are weak or when flying in complex environments like urban areas. The Mini 5 Pro also has L1+L5 dual-band GNSS, allowing it to connect to more satellites for better signal stability.

Enhanced subject tracking and intelligent shooting modes

Upgraded ActiveTrack 360° allows the DJI Mini 5 Pro to follow subjects with greater adaptability and precision. Multi-scenario tracking detects sports scenarios and automatically selects cycling or standard mode for ideal framing and tracking. The drone’s tracking balances speed, agility and safety, providing tracking that prioritises speed suited to open areas or a rear tracking mode for more complex environments.

The DJI Mini 5 Pro offers intelligent modes to enhance your shoots. MasterShots provides camera movement templates, while QuickShots includes options like Rotate, Dronie, Circle, Helix, Rocket, Boomerang, and Asteroid for cinematic clips. Free Panorama stitches multiple images into wide shots, and Off-State QuickTransfer enables fast file sharing via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 6 at up to 100MB/s, with support for remote wake-up and background downloads.

Improved transmission and flight times

Equipped with O4+ transmission technology, the DJI Mini 5 Pro maintains a reliable live feed at distances up to 20 km, with strong anti-interference performance for stable control. Flight time is extended to 36 minutes with the DJI Mini 5 Pro Intelligent Flight Battery, while fast-charging supports reduced downtime between sessions. The DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo (RC2) includes a DJI RC2 Remote controller alongside various accessories for improving your shoots. Know The Rules!

The UK’s drone regulations are evolving from 1 January 2026, introducing a new class-marking system (UK0-UK6) and updated operating categories based on risk, location, and proximity to people. Any drone weighing 100g or more will now require a Flyer ID, and if it has a camera, you’ll also need an Operator ID. While legacy drones remain legal, they may face stricter distance limits unless upgraded or replaced with class-marked models. Remote ID will also become mandatory for many drones, enhancing accountability by broadcasting identification and location data during flight.

For commercial operations, pilots must ensure their drones are compliant with class markings, hold the appropriate qualifications (such as the A2 CofC or Operational Authorisation for higher-risk flights), and have valid third-party insurance.
