Audison USS4 Universal 4 Channel Speakers Simulator Presence Load Interface
Couldn't Load Pickup availability
The Audison USS4 is a 4-channel universal speaker simulator and presence load interface from Audison's processor accessory range. It presents a 12 ohm load to OEM head units that mute their outputs when no speaker load is detected, allowing connection to the high-level inputs of an Audison bit processor or amplifier.
Key specifications
- Channels: 4 in / 4 out
- Input power: 50W max
- Input / output impedance: 12 ohm
- Remote out (with 12V supply): 12V DC, 150mA
- Delayed remote out: 12V DC, 150mA, 1 to 8 seconds
- Weight: 90g
Audison USS4: universal speakers simulator
Some OEM head units include a test circuit that monitors for a low-impedance speaker load before enabling audio outputs. Connecting this type of head unit directly to the high-level inputs of an Audison bit processor — which presents a high-impedance load — causes the audio outputs to be silenced. Inserting the USS4 between the source and the processor or amplifier resolves this problem.
If a remote signal is needed to control amplifier turn-on and turn-off, the USS4 can be powered to provide this. It also offers a delayed remote output, adjustable from 1 to 8 seconds, to prevent audible "bumps" at ignition.

About the Audison USS 4.00
From our tech experts at CEN
A load simulator, presenting the factory amplifier with the load it expects so it does not fault or mute once the original speakers are gone.
Who it suits
Anyone replacing a factory amplified system where removing the original speakers would otherwise throw an error and stop the install dead.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why would I need the Audison USS4?
A: Some OEM head units only enable their audio outputs when they detect a low-impedance speaker load. A processor's high-level inputs present a high impedance, so the outputs stay silent. The USS4 sits between the source and the processor or amplifier and simulates the speaker load.
Q: Does the USS4 need power?
A: Only if you want it to generate an amplifier remote turn-on signal. With a 12V supply it provides a remote output and a delayed remote output (1 to 8 seconds) to avoid turn-on thumps.
Q: How many channels does the USS4 handle?
A: Four input and four output channels, with up to 50W maximum input power and a 12 ohm input and output impedance.
