Digital 6 channel signal processor with 96 kHz / 24 Bit signal path

Despite its compact dimensions, the DSP Mini MK2 is packed with advanced technology. A 64 Bit audio DSP at 295 MHz, combined with 96 kHz sampling and a high-resolution audio bandwidth beyond 40 kHz, delivers outstanding sound quality. Unique DSP sound features include "Augmented Bass Processing", "StageXpander" and "RealCenter" — giving you precise control over your audio system. If you need more outputs or channels, Helix also offers the Helix DSP.3S 8 Channel Digital Signal Processor.

  • Configured via the intuitive DSP PC-Tool V4 software

96 kHz sampling rate

The DSP Mini MK2 processes all signals at 96 kHz, extending the audio bandwidth well beyond the usual 22 kHz limit to more than 40 kHz. Doubling the sampling rate demands significantly greater DSP processing power, as the number of available arithmetic operations is halved. Only the latest generation of DSP chip makes this possible while still adding new features.

Smart high-level input ADEP.3

Modern factory head units use sophisticated speaker-line diagnostics. Many will trigger fault messages or lose features such as fader control when a signal processor is connected — but not with the DSP Mini MK2.

The ADEP.3 circuit (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection, 3rd Generation) prevents these issues without placing unnecessary load on the OE radio's speaker outputs at high volumes.

Start-Stop capability

The DSP Mini MK2's switched-mode power supply maintains a stable internal voltage even when the battery drops to 6 V during engine crank.

Power Save Mode

Power Save Mode is active by default. If no input signal is detected for more than 60 seconds, it switches off the remote output and any connected amplifiers — reducing standby power consumption.

Note: in vehicles using CAN bus or similar systems, the head unit may remain active for up to 45 minutes after the car is locked. Power Save Mode will handle this automatically, and the remote output reactivates within one second once a music signal is detected. The 60-second turn-off delay and Power Save Mode itself can both be adjusted or disabled via DSP PC-Tool software.

Automatic digital signal detection

The DSP Mini MK2 automatically switches from analogue to digital input when a signal is detected on the optical input. This behaviour can be disabled in DSP PC-Tool software, or an optional remote control can be used for manual input switching.

About the Helix HP50608

From our tech experts at CEN

A 6-channel digital signal processor from Helix, with the equalisation, crossovers and time alignment that let a system be tuned to the car rather than left to fight it.

Who it suits

Anyone serious about sound quality, and anyone stuck with a factory head unit that cannot be replaced — a DSP takes the signal the car gives you, corrects it and hands clean audio to your amplifiers. It is the single biggest improvement available in most vehicles.

Our tech experts advise

The processor does nothing until it is tuned: measurements taken in the car, delays set for the driving seat, crossovers chosen for your actual drivers. That tuning is the work, and it is what we do at our Beeston workshop rather than shipping a preset. Installation and tuning are priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs. See car audio installation.
