SR 6.600: 1120 W total power, 140 W x 4 + 185 W x 2 at 2 ohm, D-Class

The Audison SR 6.600 is a Hi-Res Audio certified 6-channel amplifier designed to build active 3-way, front/rear/sub or five-channel systems from a factory or aftermarket head unit.

Audison D-Class technology

ADT uses a high switching frequency and very high-tolerance components to maintain timing accuracy even at temperature extremes. The high switching frequency pushes noise well outside the audible band.

Audison Class D amplifiers use a 4th-order analogue lowpass filter rather than a simpler 2nd-order filter. The steeper roll-off keeps noise lower in amplitude, controls EMI and prevents infrasonic noise reaching the tweeters, while keeping phase shift outside the audible range. Each output channel has its own dedicated filter.

  • High-current output stable into the most demanding loads (1 Ω stereo, 2 Ω bridged for Ch 5/6)
  • Power staggered for active 3-way front use — higher power for woofers, or 600 W bridged for a subwoofer in 5-channel mode with a 2 Ω sub
  • Flexible crossover networks support active 3-way, front/rear/sub, or six channels of high-passed output
  • ADT technology delivers Hi-Res certified audio with high efficiency in a compact, fanless extruded aluminium chassis
  • Built-in USS (Universal Speaker Simulator)
  • Balanced high-noise rejection inputs: Speaker-In for OEM head units, RCA-In for aftermarket head units
  • ART (Automatic Remote Turn-On/Off) — automatically turns the amplifier on/off with the OEM head unit; can be enabled or disabled when using Speaker-In inputs
  • Accepts Speaker-In signals up to 40 V
  • Bass Boost (50 Hz) adjustable up to 12 dB
  • Lo-Pass and Hi-Pass filters: 12 dB/oct, adjustable 50 Hz to 5000 Hz — supports 3-way, front 2-way + rear, or front 2-way + subwoofer (2 Ω) configurations
  • Optional VCR-S2/ARC 01 Remote Volume Control for adjusting Ch 5/6 output level from the dashboard

USS (Universal Speaker Simulator)

USS technology on the high-level inputs ensures maximum compatibility with any OEM head unit source.

Hi-Res

As defined by the Japan Audio Society (JAS), this amplifier exceeds the 40 kHz analogue bandwidth requirement for Hi-Res Audio certification.

Fully bridgeable

Every pair of channels can be bridged independently, giving maximum flexibility when configuring your system.

About the Audison SR 6.600

From our tech experts at CEN

A 6-channel amplifier from Audison’s SR range, rated at 1120w RMS.

Who it suits

Drivers whose speakers have outgrown the head unit. SR is the compact, high-power line for installs where space is short.

Our tech experts advise

Matching matters more than headline watts, and gains want setting with a meter rather than by ear. It also needs a fused feed from the battery on the correct gauge. Installation and tuning are priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I choose the right amplifier for my speakers or subwoofer?

A: Match the amplifier's RMS output per channel to the RMS handling of your speakers or subwoofer at the same impedance. The Specification tab lists the power figures. If in doubt, contact CEN with your setup and we will recommend a match.

Q: What wiring do I need to install this amplifier?

A: You will need an amplifier wiring kit sized to the amplifier's power draw, typically including power and earth cable, a fuse, RCA leads and a remote wire. CEN stocks complete wiring kits, and the amplifier's fuse rating is the guide to the cable gauge required.

Q: What class of amplifier is this and does it matter?

A: Class D amplifiers are compact and efficient, ideal for subwoofers and modern installs. Class AB designs are traditionally favoured for outright sound quality on mid and high frequencies. The class is listed in the Specification tab where provided.

Q: Will an amplifier work with my factory head unit?

A: Yes, in most cases. If your head unit has no RCA outputs you will need a line output converter to feed the amplifier a clean signal. CEN stocks line output converters and can advise the right one for your vehicle.

Q: Can CEN install this amplifier?

A: Yes. CEN offers professional amplifier installation from our Nottingham premises, including secure mounting, wiring and setup. Contact us to book.

Q: How much power does the Audison SR 6.600 deliver?

A: Total power is 1120 W RMS. In 6 channel mode it delivers 85 W x 4 + 110 W x 2 at 4 ohm, or 140 W x 4 + 185 W x 2 at 2 ohm. In 5 channel mode at 2 ohm it delivers 130 W x 4 + 600 W x 1 with channels 5/6 bridged.

Q: Can the Audison SR 6.600 be connected to a factory head unit?

A: Yes. It has balanced Speaker-In inputs accepting up to 40 V for OEM head units, USS speaker simulation for compatibility, and ART automatic remote turn-on/off, alongside Pre-In RCA inputs for aftermarket head units.

Q: Can the SR 6.600 run a subwoofer as well as speakers?

A: Yes. Channels 5/6 can be bridged to give up to 600 W into a 2 ohm subwoofer while channels 1 to 4 power the front and rear speakers, and the crossovers allow active 3-way, front/rear/sub or six channels of high-passed power.
