PNW Series 5x7" High-Fidelity Coaxial Speakers

AudioControl has over 45 years of experience engineering audio components. The PNW Series is built around an edge-enhanced steel frame for structural rigidity, a black anodized voice coil former for superior heat dissipation, and a linear double-roll surround for precise cone movement. The rigid poly mica-coated cone optimises sound reproduction, while the rear-dampened hybrid silk dome tweeter extends frequency response. The tweeter's concentric point source design aligns the output of both drivers for improved staging and clarity.

Mounting hardware is included for a straightforward installation. For a complete system upgrade, the PNW-57 pairs well with AudioControl's amplifiers — adding an AudioControl LC2i line output converter is a practical way to integrate an aftermarket amplifier into a factory head unit setup.

Our tech experts advise

Sizes, adapter rings and harnesses vary by vehicle, year and trim, so we confirm what your car takes before ordering rather than guessing. Door treatment matters as much as the speaker. Installation is priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will these speakers fit my car?

A: Most car speakers are standard sizes, but mounting depth and fitting rings vary by vehicle. Check the size in the Specification tab against your vehicle, or contact CEN with your registration and we will confirm fitment and any adapters or fitting kits you need.

Q: Do I need an amplifier to run these speakers?

A: Not always. Most speakers will run from a standard head unit, but a dedicated amplifier lets them perform at their best, particularly for component sets and higher power handling models. The RMS figure in the Specification tab is the guide to how much clean power they can use.

Q: What is the difference between coaxial and component speakers?

A: Coaxial speakers combine the tweeter and woofer in one unit for a simple like-for-like upgrade. Component sets separate the tweeter and woofer with a crossover for better imaging and detail, and suit installs where sound quality is the priority.

Q: Do these come as a pair?

A: Unless stated otherwise, car speakers are sold in pairs. Check the product title and What's Included tab, which lists exactly what is in the box.

Q: Can CEN fit these speakers for me?

A: Yes. CEN offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises. Contact us to book an installation slot or ask for a fitting quote.

Q: What size hole does the PNW-57 need?

A: The cut-out is 118 x 177mm and the mounting depth is 57mm. Check these against your vehicle, or contact CEN for a fitment check.

Q: How much power can the PNW-57 handle?

A: They are rated at 75W RMS and 100W max per speaker, with a frequency response of 60Hz-20kHz.

Q: Does the PNW-57 have a built-in tweeter?

A: Yes. It is a 2-way coaxial with a rear-dampened hybrid silk dome tweeter mounted concentrically, fed through a Butterworth high-pass crossover at 5250Hz.
