Which Viofo accessory should I choose?
The key choice for parking mode power is between a hardwire cable and an OBD-II cable. Hardwire cables (HK3, HK4, HK5, HK6) connect to the fuse box and offer four selectable voltage cut-off options; the OP100 requires no fuse box wiring and plugs straight into the OBD-II port. Connector type determines the correct hardwire cable: HK3 for Mini-USB (A119 V3, A129), HK4 for USB-C on A119 Mini, A229 and A329, HK5 for the VS1, and HK6 for the A329S series.
For CPL filters, the correct model depends on your camera series and lens position — CPL-100 for A119/A129, CPL-200 for A229/A329/A139 front cameras, CPL-300 for A229/A139 rear cameras, CPL-400 for the VS1, CPL-500 for the A329 rear and RTC300, and CPL-600 for RTC320, RTC420 and RC320 cameras. GPS modules and adhesive sticky pads are series-specific and are not interchangeable between different Viofo ranges.
Viofo Accessories FAQs
Q: What is the difference between the HK3 and HK4 hardwire cables?
A: The HK3 uses a Mini-USB connector and suits the A119 V3 and A129 series, while the HK4 uses USB Type-C and is compatible with the A119 Mini, A229, A229 Duo, A329, T130 and WM1.
Q: Can the EP100 expansion battery be used without a BP100?
A: No — the EP100 cannot operate independently and must be connected to a BP100 battery pack; together they provide a combined capacity of 15,300mAh.
Q: Which microSD card capacity should I choose for my Viofo dash cam?
A: All four capacities — 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB — share the same U3, A2, V30 high-endurance ratings and support 4K recording; the right size depends on how long you want to store footage before loop recording overwrites it.
Q: What is the difference between the two OP100 OBD-II cables?
A: Both plug into the vehicle's OBD-II port for parking mode power with no fuse box wiring needed; the USB-C version suits the A329 and A229 series, while the Mini-USB version suits the A129 series and A119 V3.
Q: Can CEN fit hardwire cables and battery packs at their workshop?
A: Yes — hardwire cables and battery packs involve fuse box or vehicle wiring connections and are best fitted professionally; CEN's fitting workshop in Beeston, Nottingham can carry out the installation for you.
