BD8D2-V4 Black Death 8 inch subwoofer
The Black Death BD subwoofer range is built from the ground up to deliver high SPL bass. From the 8 inch BD up to a 15 inch model, each is designed to offer strong performance without a high price.
The cast alloy torsion basket keeps the structure rigid under high excursion. A FEMM motor with a high gauss level gives precise control over the OFC voice coil. The one-piece cone and dust cap add rigidity, while the high-roll surround supports deep bass output from a compact frame.
Compact output: Designed to produce big bass from a small enclosure — suited to everyday compact builds and full SPL competition systems alike.

A: Yes, unless it is an active (powered) subwoofer with a built-in amplifier. Passive subwoofers need an external amplifier matched to the RMS power and impedance shown in the Specification tab.

A: The recommended enclosure volume is listed in the Specification tab where the manufacturer provides it. As a rule, sealed enclosures give tighter, more accurate bass while ported enclosures deliver more output. Contact CEN if you would like a recommendation for your build.

A: Sealed boxes are compact and produce tight, controlled bass suited to sound quality builds. Ported boxes are larger and produce more output at low frequencies, suited to those who want maximum impact. Either works well when built to the recommended volume.
