Shanling ET3 CD transport

Compact design with CNC-machined aluminium body

The ET3 has compact dimensions suited to desktop rigs, bedroom setups or narrow hi-fi racks. The chassis is CNC-machined from a single piece of aluminium for a rigid construction. The top-loading drive with transparent cover lets you watch the disc spin. Available in two colours to suit most hi-fi setups.

MQA-CD support: full MQA unfolding

The ET3 supports MQA-CD and can act as an MQA Full Decoder, delivering the full quality of MQA files. When connected to an MQA-capable DAC, it can operate as an MQA Core Decoder, outputting via I2S to the DAC.

High-end class connectivity

The ET3 provides a full range of standard digital outputs. Its standout connections are the I2S output, capable of PCM 768kHz and DSD512, and the dedicated USB data output.

USB and wireless playback

USB drive playback supports drives up to 2TB and files up to PCM 32bit/768kHz and DSD512. The companion Eddict app lets you browse files directly from a phone or tablet. The ET3 also supports Wi-Fi streaming via DLNA and AirPlay, plus Bluetooth 5.0 input for music from phones, tablets or computers.

Advanced sound processing: upsampling and All-to-DSD

The CT7302CL upsampling chip can convert CDs, USB files or streamed audio to PCM up to 768kHz or to DSD via the All-to-DSD mode. A single setting adapts the output to suit any high-end DAC.

  • I²S output: up to PCM768, DSD512
  • Coaxial / optical / AES output: up to PCM192, DSD64

High-quality Bluetooth input

The ET3 pairs with any phone, tablet or computer as simply as a Bluetooth speaker, giving instant access to streaming apps, films or YouTube. LDAC support ensures high-fidelity wireless audio, with AAC also supported for iOS users.

Top-loading CD drive: Philips SAA7824 and Sanyo HD850

The ET3 pairs a Philips SAA7824 CD drive system with a Sanyo HD850 optical head in a top-loading design for stable, reliable playback — drawing on more than 30 years of CD player manufacturing experience at Shanling.

From our tech experts at CEN

A Shanling digital audio player, a dedicated source for people who have outgrown listening on a phone.

Who it suits

Listeners running decent headphones who suspect the source is the limiting factor. It usually is: the converter and output stage in a phone are built to a budget and a power envelope. Shanling is known for well-built portable players and DACs.

Our tech experts advise

Match the output to your headphones — sensitive in-ears and demanding over-ears want very different things, and more power is not automatically better. get in touch for a pairing recommendation.
