Shanling SM1.3R Streamer with R2R DAC

The SM1.3R features the second generation of Shanling's in-house DAC platform. Its R2R assembly uses 212 ultra-precise 0.01% resistors for the 24-bit DAC module, built on a 19-bit architecture with 4-bit compensating code and an assistive push-pull differential circuit. The result is a smooth, natural R2R presentation with high-fidelity precision and clarity.

Dual 31W Transformers and Split Power Supply

The SM1.3R uses a dual 31W transformer split power supply that separates the streaming and audio sections entirely. This keeps digital and analogue stages isolated, reducing interference for cleaner, more stable audio performance.

Hi-Res PCM and DSD Support with Dedicated ACCUSILICON Clocks

Dedicated ACCUSILICON 45.1584MHz and 49.152MHz clocks improve timing accuracy and decoding performance for high-resolution audio. Combined with Shanling's AGLO system for bit-perfect playback on Android, the SM1.3R supports hi-res audio up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM and DSD512 through both the system and XMOS USB input.

Dedicated Analogue Output Stages

Separate output stages handle line-level and headphone listening independently. MUSES8920 op-amps deliver a clean line-out signal for external amplifiers or powered speakers, while the TPA6120 headphone amplifier provides powerful, detailed direct headphone output.

Modern Streaming Platform

The SM1.3R runs on a 64-bit ARM Cortex processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The closed Android-based platform is stable and responsive for everyday streaming use.

User Interface and Navigation

Shanling's updated interface provides quick access to playback controls, settings and music libraries. The main menu gives immediate control of local libraries and streaming services, with customisation options to suit your preferences. The interface is fully unified with the Eddict Controller companion app, allowing seamless switching between on-device control and remote smartphone operation.

Direct Access to Streaming Apps

Built-in apps on the touchscreen include Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, Apple Music, Apple Music Classical, Amazon Music, Presto Music and KKBOX. TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Roon Ready, DLNA and AirPlay 2 are all supported for wireless playback from compatible devices.

Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit LAN and Bluetooth

The SM1.3R supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (2.4G/5G) and a gigabit LAN port for stable, high-speed streaming. A Qualcomm QCC5125 Bluetooth 5.2 receiver adds wireless input with support for LDAC, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX LL, aptX, AAC and SBC.

Design and Build

Inspired by Shanling's SACD and CD player designs, the SM1.3R features an aluminium chassis, glass top panel, softly rounded edges and a 5.8-inch 1080P touchscreen. It measures 280 x 180 x 110mm and weighs 6.4kg.

Eddict Controller App and Screen Mirroring

The Eddict Controller app provides fast remote control of local playback. Full wireless screen mirroring allows complete operation of streaming applications from a mobile device.

Comprehensive Hi-Fi Connectivity

The SM1.3R includes an integrated M.2 SSD slot for large local music libraries and an FPGA-assisted I2S output for use as an I2S transport. External drives up to 2TB are also supported, making it a complete digital and analogue hub for a modern Hi-Fi system.
