Option Audio Plug & Play Amp, Sub & Speakers for VW ID. Buzz
Couldn't Load Pickup availability
Sound system for VW ID. Buzz (1st gen.) | DSP power amplifier + subwoofer + front speakers
The V2 delivers significantly greater volume, clarity and control, whilst also improving sound resolution in the front of the vehicle. The OPTION DSP-6.2 amplifies the music signal and fine-tunes time alignment, equalisation and frequency distribution to suit the VW ID. Buzz and the retrofitted OPTION front speakers.
The new front speakers deliver a fresher, more detailed and more pleasant sound than the factory-fitted speakers. The treble in particular remains brilliant even at higher volumes, without becoming tiring on long journeys. The original rear speakers remain in the vehicle for the time being with the V2.
The OPTION ROCK-5 enhances the sound with a more powerful, deeper and fuller bass. The compact 20-cm subwoofer is concealed in the cavity beneath the front passenger seat and fires downwards. This preserves the boot and usable storage space.
The vehicle-specific T-cable set is plugged into the radio unit and transmits both the music signal and the power supply. A separate power cable to the battery is therefore not required. The existing connectors and the original wiring remain in place, meaning the system can be removed at a later date.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need an amplifier for this subwoofer?
A: Yes, unless it is an active (powered) subwoofer with a built-in amplifier. Passive subwoofers need an external amplifier matched to the RMS power and impedance shown in the Specification tab.
Q: What size enclosure does this subwoofer need?
A: The recommended enclosure volume is listed in the Specification tab where the manufacturer provides it. As a rule, sealed enclosures give tighter, more accurate bass while ported enclosures deliver more output. Contact CEN if you would like a recommendation for your build.
Q: What does RMS power mean?
A: RMS is the continuous power a subwoofer can handle, and it is the number that matters when matching an amplifier. Peak or max figures describe short bursts only. Match your amplifier output to the RMS rating in the Specification tab.
Q: Sealed or ported enclosure - which should I choose?
A: Sealed boxes are compact and produce tight, controlled bass suited to sound quality builds. Ported boxes are larger and produce more output at low frequencies, suited to those who want maximum impact. Either works well when built to the recommended volume.
Q: Can CEN build or supply an enclosure and fit everything?
A: Yes. CEN supplies enclosures and offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises, including amplifier wiring. Contact us to discuss your build.
