10th Anniversary Edition – W7 8-inch Subwoofer (500 W, 3 Ω)
This subwoofer delivers more than 0.75 in (19 mm) of one-way linear excursion. It is best used with amplifier power in the 200–500W RMS range, optimised for a 0.875 cu ft (24.8 l) sealed enclosure or a 1.0 cu ft (28.3 l) ported enclosure. If you need a step up in cone area, JL Audio's 8W3V3-4 8" W3 Series subwoofer is also available in the JL Audio range.
W7AE Anniversary Edition subwoofers celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the W7 launch. Functionally identical to the original W7, they are distinguished by the following cosmetic differences:

- Bright anodised surround clamp ring
- Anniversary Edition cone badge
- Anniversary Edition terminal label
W-Cone
The W-Cone is a unit-body cone assembly delivering high stiffness with minimal mass. Its shape provides superb torsional rigidity, maintaining voice coil alignment at the suspension limits.
OverRoll™ Surround
This design uses space wasted in conventional speakers to control the W7's massive excursion without sacrificing cone area.
Floating Cone Attach Method – FCAM™
Conceived by JL Audio, this assembly technique ensures correct surround geometry for better excursion control and dynamic voice coil alignment.
Radially Cross-Drilled Pole-Piece
This venting system directs airflow onto the voice coil former, working with the elevated frame cooling technology to remove heat, improve power handling, and reduce power compression for more linear performance.
Engineered Lead-Wire System
Carefully engineered lead-wire design and attachments ensure controlled, quiet lead-wire behaviour under extreme excursion demands.
