About the JBL BassPro 8
From our tech experts at CEN
A powered subwoofer with the amplifier built in, 8 inch, 100w RMS.
Who it suits
Drivers who want more low end without building a system around it — one unit, one power feed, no separate amplifier to hide.
Our tech experts advise
It still needs a fused feed from the battery and a signal source, and the level and crossover want setting against your existing speakers so it fills in underneath rather than announcing itself. Installation is priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need an amplifier for this subwoofer?
A: Yes, unless it is an active (powered) subwoofer with a built-in amplifier. Passive subwoofers need an external amplifier matched to the RMS power and impedance shown in the Specification tab.
Q: What does RMS power mean?
A: RMS is the continuous power a subwoofer can handle, and it is the number that matters when matching an amplifier. Peak or max figures describe short bursts only. Match your amplifier output to the RMS rating in the Specification tab.
Q: Does the JBL BassPro 8 need a separate amplifier?
A: No. It has a built-in 100W RMS Class D amplifier matched to the 8 inch woofer, so you only need power, earth, remote and signal connections.
Q: Does the BassPro 8 come with a bass remote?
A: Yes. A wired bass volume remote control is included, along with a wire harness with connectors and a quick start guide.
Q: Can CEN fit the JBL BassPro 8?
A: Yes. CEN offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises, including power wiring and connection to your existing system. Contact us to book.
