High-level inputs mean it works with a factory head unit as well as aftermarket stereos with RCA outputs. The BassPro 12 uses JBL's patented Slipstream port technology to produce deep, turbulence-free bass — solving a common problem found in traditional ported enclosures.
The built-in Class D amplifier keeps the unit compact without sacrificing output. The included JBL RBC wired remote lets you adjust bass volume from the driver's seat without accessing the boot.

Q: Do I need an amplifier for this subwoofer?
A: Yes, unless it is an active (powered) subwoofer with a built-in amplifier. Passive subwoofers need an external amplifier matched to the RMS power and impedance shown in the Specification tab.
Q: What does RMS power mean?
A: RMS is the continuous power a subwoofer can handle, and it is the number that matters when matching an amplifier. Peak or max figures describe short bursts only. Match your amplifier output to the RMS rating in the Specification tab.
Q: Can CEN build or supply an enclosure and fit everything?
A: Yes. CEN supplies enclosures and offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises, including amplifier wiring. Contact us to discuss your build.
Q: Does the JBL BassPro 12 need a separate amplifier?
A: No. It has a built-in Class D amplifier rated at 150 W RMS (450 W max), so it only needs power, earth, a turn-on signal and an audio input.
