Titan 8mm is engineered as a second layer on top of a vibration deadening mat, creating a complete soundproofing solution that tackles both structural vibration and airborne noise.

Its multi-layer construction combines a high-density acoustic membrane with sound-absorbing materials to form an effective barrier against road noise, tyre roar, engine noise and external sound. Noise reduction of up to 38dB produces a noticeably quieter cabin, improving driving comfort and the performance of factory and aftermarket audio systems.

Unlike foam-based materials, Titan is fully waterproof and moisture-resistant, making it suitable for demanding automotive environments. Installed over a vibration damping material such as Comfort Mat Extreme, Atom Bomb, Aerospace Volt or Extreme Pro, it provides acoustic isolation for floors, wheel arches, firewalls and cargo areas while maintaining long-term durability.

About the Comfort Mat TITAN 8

From our tech experts at CEN

The Comfort Mat Titan is an 8mm multi-layer sound isolator, sold as a pack of five sheets measuring 480 × 700mm each. It acts as a second layer on top of vibration deadening material, reducing airborne noise by up to 38dB. Both the material and the adhesive are fully waterproof, making it well suited to demanding automotive environments.

Who it suits

Titan 8mm is for drivers wanting a noticeably quieter cabin, whether for comfort on longer journeys or to get more from an aftermarket audio system. It works best paired with a vibration deadener such as the Comfort Mat Extreme Pro 6mm or Atom Bomb 4.2mm beneath it.

Our tech experts advise

Apply Titan over an existing vibration deadening layer on floors, wheel arches or the engine firewall — it is not effective as a standalone treatment. Each sheet weighs 2.76kg, so five sheets add around 13.8kg total; factor this in for boot builds. Press firmly across the full surface to achieve the rated 6–8 N/cm adhesion. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much sound deadening do I need for my car?

A: As a guide, a pair of front doors takes around 1 to 1.5 square metres, and a full car between 4 and 6 square metres depending on coverage. The sheet coverage for this product is listed in the Specification tab.

Q: Where should I apply sound deadening first?

A: Doors give the biggest gain for both road noise and speaker performance, followed by the boot floor and wheel arches. Even a doors-only install noticeably tightens speaker bass.

Q: Is sound deadening difficult to fit myself?

A: It is one of the more DIY-friendly upgrades: panels are cut to shape, peeled and rolled firmly onto clean metal. A roller tool and panel removal tools make the job much easier, or CEN can carry out installation from our Nottingham premises.

Q: Will sound deadening improve my audio system?

A: Yes. Deadening the doors reduces panel resonance so speakers produce cleaner, tighter bass, and lowering road noise means you hear more detail at normal volumes.

Q: How much area does a pack of Comfort Mat Pulsar cover?

A: Each sheet measures 500 x 320 mm (0.16 square metres), so the pack of 15 sheets covers about 2.4 square metres.

Q: Do I need another layer on top of Pulsar?

A: Pulsar is designed to be used as a single layer. It combines anti-vibration damping and sound insulation in one 5 mm sheet, made up of a 100 micron foil, 5 mm mastic with foamed granules and an adhesive layer.

Q: Where can Comfort Mat Pulsar be fitted?

A: It is suited to doors, roof, bonnet, boot lid, boot and the floor under the rear seats, typically areas with medium to high vibration and noise loads.
