The beginning of a new era

Digital signal processing has long been part of the Brax world through the Brax DSP, but analog amplification has traditionally been considered the benchmark for sound quality. The Brax Revelation RX2 PRO changes that, introducing a Class D design that Brax says outperforms everything before it in the car audio segment.

"As a passionate musician with over 45 years of success in the audio industry, I never thought Class D technology could ever compete with analog. But let me be clear: The BRAX REVELATION RX2 PRO takes my breath away. The level of audiophile performance this amplifier delivers is out of this world and elevates BRAX's commitment to uncompromising sound to a new level. I am convinced that this technological masterpiece will open the eyes of even the most dedicated analog enthusiasts to a new era of high-end amplification."

The new benchmark in sound quality — with PURIFI's EIGENTAKT technology

Developed in close collaboration with Danish manufacturer PURIFI, the RX2 PRO is built around their patented EIGENTAKT technology. All performance metrics — including THD+N, intermodulation, and signal-to-noise ratio — are so exceptional that only the most expensive measurement systems can accurately capture them.

The Multi-Stage Feedback principle uses several ultra-fast feedback loops to compensate for all non-linearities in the amplifier stages. This extends to the output relays, which have their own control loop to equalise minimal contact resistance. Crucially, the LC output filter is incorporated into these feedback loops, fully compensating for its effect on distortion and output impedance.

The result is a damping factor of over 10,000 @ 4 Ω — not just at 1 kHz, but across the entire audio band. The frequency response remains perfectly linear up to 60 kHz regardless of speaker impedance, eliminating the load-dependent behaviour typical of conventional Class D designs. Paired with high-end Brax drivers, that level of speaker control translates directly into audible precision.

Advanced power supply design

The regulated power supply delivers a constant output voltage to the power stages independent of battery voltage, providing full start-stop capability and compatibility with EV onboard networks up to 18 V. It carries 67 electrolytic capacitors with massive total capacity for high peak current delivery. The 8-layer PCB minimises internal resistance and ensures high currents cannot affect sensitive input or feedback signals.

Flexible input options with first-class signal processing

The analog input module uses a super-balanced differential input stage per channel, with two BurrBrown OPA1612 op-amps providing extremely high common-mode rejection and excellent immunity to automotive interference.

The separately available digital input module features optical and coaxial SPDIF inputs with an ESS DAC achieving a signal-to-noise ratio of 130 dB and distortion of -117 dB (0.00014%). A dual voltage regulator developed by ESS supplies each channel separately. The digital module also supports the proprietary DiSAC 2.0 protocol of the Brax DSP for volume control at the end of the signal chain.

Compact design and revolutionary efficiency

Despite its output of 2 x 300 W @ 4 Ω, 2 x 510 W @ 2 Ω, or 1 x 930 W bridged @ 4 Ω, the RX2 PRO shares the same footprint as a Brax DSP — nearly 40% more compact than a GX2000 and 66% smaller than an MX4 PRO. Low heat generation and high efficiency make it well suited to high-density modern vehicle installations.

About the Brax 12300A

From our tech experts at CEN

A 2-channel amplifier from Brax.

Who it suits

Drivers whose speakers have outgrown the head unit. Brax is the flagship of the Audiotec Fischer stable, built without much regard for cost.

Our tech experts advise

Matching matters more than headline watts, and gains want setting with a meter rather than by ear. It needs a fused feed from the battery on the correct cable gauge. Installation is priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I choose the right amplifier for my speakers or subwoofer?

A: Match the amplifier's RMS output per channel to the RMS handling of your speakers or subwoofer at the same impedance. The Specification tab lists the power figures. If in doubt, contact CEN with your setup and we will recommend a match.

Q: What wiring do I need to install this amplifier?

A: You will need an amplifier wiring kit sized to the amplifier's power draw, typically including power and earth cable, a fuse, RCA leads and a remote wire. CEN stocks complete wiring kits, and the amplifier's fuse rating is the guide to the cable gauge required.

Q: What class of amplifier is this and does it matter?

A: Class D amplifiers are compact and efficient, ideal for subwoofers and modern installs. Class AB designs are traditionally favoured for outright sound quality on mid and high frequencies. The class is listed in the Specification tab where provided.

Q: Will an amplifier work with my factory head unit?

A: Yes, in most cases. If your head unit has no RCA outputs you will need a line output converter to feed the amplifier a clean signal. CEN stocks line output converters and can advise the right one for your vehicle.

Q: Can CEN install this amplifier?

A: Yes. CEN offers professional amplifier installation from our Nottingham premises, including secure mounting, wiring and setup. Contact us to book.

Q: What is the difference between the analog and digital RX2 PRO?

A: Both share the same amplifier. The analog version has a super-balanced 2 x RCA input module; the digital version has an ESS DAC module with optical and coaxial SPDIF inputs and supports BRAX DiSAC 2.0 volume control.

Q: Is the RX2 PRO suitable for electric vehicles?

A: Yes. Its regulated power supply is start-stop capable and handles on-board voltages up to 18 V found in many electric vehicles.

Q: How much power does the RX2 PRO produce?

A: 2 x 300 W at 4 Ohms, 2 x 510 W at 2 Ohms, or 1 x 930 W bridged at 4 Ohms.
