About the Sirui Traveler 5C

From our tech experts at CEN

The SIRUI Traveler 5C is the carbon fibre version of the Traveler 5 and, at 850g with its ball head, the lightest in that line-up. The five-section legs reverse-fold to 33cm and extend to 138cm, with a 16cm minimum height once the centre column is out. It takes loads up to 4kg, and the head pans 360 degrees.

Who it suits

Hikers and travellers with a mirrorless kit who count every gram and want a tripod that disappears into a rucksack side pocket. The aluminium Traveler 5A has the same heights and costs less, while the Traveler 7C adds height and an 8kg rating.

Our tech experts advise

Keep the centre column low for long exposures, as a compact tripod is at its stiffest with the column down. Use the 360-degree pan base for panoramas, levelling the legs first. Rinse and dry the leg locks after salt spray.
