About the PolarPro MINIMAG-BK-18
From our tech experts at CEN
The PolarPro Mini MagLock 1/8 Black Mist is a 1/8-strength diffusion filter in PolarPro's Mini MagLock magnetic system — a compact version of the Helix MagLock. It is designed for Leica Q3 and Fuji X100VI sized cameras, and fits any lens with a thread between 43mm and 55mm via the appropriate Mini MagLock base plate.
Who it suits
This suits Leica Q3 and Fuji X100VI owners who want a magnetic filter system, as well as compact camera users with lens threads from 43mm to 55mm. The 1/8 strength is a subtle diffusion, suited to those who want a restrained effect rather than a heavy look.
Our tech experts advise
A Mini MagLock base plate is required and sold separately — dedicated plates are available for the Fuji X100VI and Leica Q3, plus thread base plates in 43mm, 46mm, 49mm, 52mm and 55mm. The Mag-Lock holds the filter firmly until you unlock it. The included front and rear aluminium defender caps replace your standard lens cap. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Which filter do I need - ND, polariser or variable ND?
A: A polariser cuts glare and deepens colour. Fixed ND filters reduce light by a set amount for controlled shutter speeds. Variable NDs adjust across a range, making them the flexible choice for video. The filter type and strength are listed in the Specification tab.
Q: Will this filter fit my lens or drone?
A: Filters are made per thread size or per drone model. Check the size in the product title and Specification tab against your lens thread or drone model, or contact CEN to confirm.
Q: Do filters degrade image quality?
A: Quality glass filters are designed to be optically neutral. Cheap filters can introduce colour casts and softness, which is why we stock cinema-grade brands with strong colour accuracy.
Q: What strength is this Black Mist filter?
A: It is a 1/8 strength Black Mist diffusion filter in the Mini MagLock format.
Q: Do I need a base plate for this filter?
A: Yes. A Mini MagLock base plate is required and sold separately. Dedicated plates fit the Leica Q3 and Fuji X100VI with no adapter, and thread plates fit lenses with 43mm to 55mm threads.
Q: What comes in the box?
A: The filter with a front and rear aluminium defender cap, which replaces your lens cap. The base plate is not included.
