Solo X L7X 8" Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer - 2 Ohm
KA49L7X82
KICKER's 8-inch SoloX® L7X™ Ferrite Competition Subwoofer brings the most advanced bass technology and unprecedented performance, from the guys who invented it for a vehicle.
Monster Performance
A motor like no other – it includes a massive, triple-stacked ferrite magnet surrounding a hyper-extended pole piece, engineered for an enormous, more linear magnetic field and amazing heat dissipation. It's ultra-deep bass at very high volume.
Stability is Key
The L7X8's 2.5-inch voice coil is supported by a dual-spider suspension system, and the double-pressed pulp cone is attached to an ultra-long-throw Santoprene surround - equipped with KICKER's square cone tech and ribbed corners for continuous force and air movement.
Keep it Cool
Heat is the enemy of endurance. To make our subs even more reliable, KICKER engineers developed Forced-Air Cooling™ which helps SoloX subwoofers run significantly cooler and last longer.
Connected
Wiring is simple with heavy-duty, spring-loaded single 8 AWG terminals.
Field-Replaceable Recone Kit – Never Stop the Music
A field-replaceable recone kit (cone, voice coil and spider assembly) is available for the L7X8. Fitting it requires gluing and cure time.

About the Kicker KA49L7X82
From our tech experts at CEN
A 8 inch subwoofer from the Solo-Baric L7 line, whose square cone gives more radiating area than a round driver of the same nominal size, with a 2 ohm voice coil so it can be wired to suit your amplifier, handling 400w RMS.
Who it suits
Drivers who want serious output and have the space and the amplifier to do it justice. It needs an enclosure sized correctly for the driver: sealed for tight and accurate, ported for louder and deeper.
Our tech experts advise
A subwoofer is only as good as its enclosure and the amplifier behind it. Box volume, port tuning and how the voice coils are wired decide what you actually hear. We build enclosures to suit the vehicle and match amplification at our Beeston workshop. Installation is priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need an amplifier for this subwoofer?
A: Yes, unless it is an active (powered) subwoofer with a built-in amplifier. Passive subwoofers need an external amplifier matched to the RMS power and impedance shown in the Specification tab.
Q: What size enclosure does this subwoofer need?
A: The recommended enclosure volume is listed in the Specification tab where the manufacturer provides it. As a rule, sealed enclosures give tighter, more accurate bass while ported enclosures deliver more output. Contact CEN if you would like a recommendation for your build.
Q: What does RMS power mean?
A: RMS is the continuous power a subwoofer can handle, and it is the number that matters when matching an amplifier. Peak or max figures describe short bursts only. Match your amplifier output to the RMS rating in the Specification tab.
Q: Sealed or ported enclosure - which should I choose?
A: Sealed boxes are compact and produce tight, controlled bass suited to sound quality builds. Ported boxes are larger and produce more output at low frequencies, suited to those who want maximum impact. Either works well when built to the recommended volume.
Q: Can CEN build or supply an enclosure and fit everything?
A: Yes. CEN supplies enclosures and offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises, including amplifier wiring. Contact us to discuss your build.
Q: What box does the Kicker 49L7X82 need?
A: Kicker recommends a vented enclosure of 25 L tuned to 39Hz, with a port opening of 5 x 23 cm, 82 cm long.
Q: What impedance is the 49L7X82?
A: It has dual 2 ohm voice coils. A dual 1 ohm version of the same 8 inch L7X is also available, so you can choose the one that suits your amplifier's stable load.
Q: How much power does the 49L7X82 need?
A: Kicker recommends 400-800W RMS from your amplifier.
