The Hertz Mille Legend ML 280.3 is a 1.38 inch (35 mm) Tetolon fibre dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet and CNC-machined aluminium body, handling 180 W peak. It is part of Hertz's flagship Mille Legend range.

The ML 280.3 is also the tweeter supplied in the MLK 1650.3 and MLK 700.3 Legend component systems.

The ML 280.3 is Hertz's evolution of a tweeter long regarded as a reference in car audio. FEA simulations guided optimisation of the Tetolon dome geometry, face plate profile and magnetic circuit to reduce distortion and improve high-frequency dispersion.

• Neodymium magnet optimised with FEA magnetic flux simulations for precise control and fast transient response.
• Extremely pure copper short circuit ring for extended very high frequency performance.
• Die-cast aluminium face plate with FEA-optimised profile for improved frequency response and dispersion.
• Tetolon fibre dome optimised with FEA simulations for lower distortion and better high-frequency dispersion.
• Frame and rear load chamber both CNC machined from solid aluminium for a mechanically inert, resonance-free structure.
• Rear chamber tuned to 900 Hz Fs — 50% larger overall volume than the previous generation — extending low-frequency response and reducing distortion through the crossover region, allowing a lower cut-off frequency.
• High-density damping material beneath the dome; low-density absorbing material in the rear chamber for fluid acoustic emission and strong low-frequency damping.
