Goldring E1 MM cartridge and stylus
Goldring's aim is accurate replication of the original record production — preserving the musicality, nuance and rhythm the artist intended. The E Series is designed to fit the majority of budget to medium-priced turntables with minimal fuss.
The E1 uses a carbon-fibre reinforced cantilever and bonded spherical stylus. Carbon is a capable alternative to premium aluminium or boron materials and delivers comparable results in entry-level hi-fi applications.
Magnetic Duplex Technology™
Every E Series cartridge includes Goldring's Magnetic Duplex Technology™ — a dual-magnet generator assembly with geometry identical to that of the original cutting head. This allows more accurate reproduction of stereo information in the record groove, improving channel separation and soundstage.
Expert adjustment
E Series cartridges feature a special adjustment screw that allows micro-adjustments during production. The stylus angle relative to the record surface is pre-set at the factory, so no horizontal tracking adjustment is needed on installation. The result is consistent channel balance and reliable performance throughout the product's life.
Stylus and cantilever
The E1 and E2 both use spherical styli, making either an ideal upgrade for a budget, pre-fitted or obsolete cartridge. Both are well suited to everyday vinyl playback on entry-level and mid-priced turntables.

About the Goldring GL0054
From our tech experts at CEN
The Goldring E1 is the entry-level model in Goldring's E Series of moving magnet (MM) phono cartridges. It features a carbon-fibre reinforced cantilever and a bonded spherical stylus with a 0.6 mil tip radius. It is designed as a direct upgrade for worn, pre-fitted or obsolete cartridges on budget to mid-priced turntables.
Who it suits
The E1 suits anyone replacing a basic or worn cartridge on a budget or mid-priced deck. The spherical stylus is forgiving and well suited to everyday vinyl listening. Those wanting an elliptical stylus for improved groove tracing may prefer the Goldring E3.
Our tech experts advise
Set the tracking force to 2.0 g, within the 1.75–2.25 g range. The standard 12.7 mm fixing centres fit most headshells. Your phono stage should present a 47 kΩ load and 100–200 pF capacitance. The stylus angle is factory pre-set, so no horizontal tracking adjustment is needed on installation. Browse the full Goldring range at CEN.
