ESB 4.6C 2 Way 6.5 Inch Coaxial Car Speaker 100w RMS Pair

The ESB 4.6C is a 6.5 inch (165 mm) 2-way coaxial car speaker from ESB's 4000 Series, rated at 100W RMS (200W transient) at 4 ohms with a high-modulus silk dome tweeter. A die-cast aluminium basket, Y35 ferrite motor and long-fibre pulp cone make it a high-power, low-distortion coaxial upgrade, sold as a pair.

Other ESB 6.5 inch coaxials: the Tremila 3.6C (80W RMS) and the 1000 Series 1.6C (90W RMS).

4.6C 6.5"/165 mm Coaxial

The ultra-low carbon alloy steel pole piece is CNC-machined using FEM magnet analysis software and cold forged in one piece for perfect geometry. This concentrates magnetic force directly in front of the voice coil, where it's needed most.

The Y35 ferrite motor is FEA-optimised for symmetrical magnetic flux in both directions of cone travel. Motor metal parts are CNC machined from solid, refined material for maximum flux linearity and minimum magnetic loss, reducing distortion at high power levels.

The die-cast aluminium alloy basket offers high rigidity and minimal airflow resistance without colouring the sound. Casting follows strict procedures to ensure consistent quality and regulatory compliance.

The CNC-machined ultra-low carbon alloy steel pole plate is machined to perfect flatness, sitting flush over the magnet without compromising magnetic flux.

The large aluminium copper-clad vented voice coil handles very high power while reproducing music with high dynamics and realism. The copper-clad aluminium wire construction keeps weight low and heat dissipation high.

The tweeter uses a high-modulus silk dome for smooth output. Its outer suspension is treated with a high-loss damping material to eliminate edge vibration and resonance.

The long-fibre, unbleached pulp cone has a special external treatment that balances lightness, rigidity and internal damping.

The surround suspension is soft nitrile rubber — UV-resistant and unaffected by temperature change — preserving acoustic performance long-term. A special edge design ensures unrestricted forward and backward movement.
