AV 6.5 P II woofer: 300 W peak power, 165 mm (6.5 in), 4 ohm
The AV 6.5 P II naturally rolls off at off-axis positions, eliminating the need for a low-pass filter in most door installations and reducing phase shifts common with other filters. A gentle 6 dB/octave filter can be added to enhance low and mid-bass. The OEM-style connector is compatible with FASTON terminals, and a unique T-shaped pole piece with an aluminium ring minimises distortion and improves frequency response.
- 1.6 in (40 mm) CCAW voice coil: maximises excursion capability and heat dissipation, allowing 150 W RMS handling without dynamic compression at high volumes.
- Low inductance design: an aluminium shorting ring built into the motor optimises upper midrange (2–3 kHz) reproduction, improving clarity of vocals and instruments.
- Oversized magnetic assembly: provides exceptional thermal stability and optimal dynamic reserve in any listening condition.
- FEM optimised magnetic circuit geometry: concentrates the magnetic field on the coil for more precise, dynamic sound.
- Semi-pressed pulp cone with cotton fibres: combines rigidity and lightness for a wide frequency response and clean midrange reproduction.
- Die-cast aluminium basket with magnet cover: enhances heat dissipation, reduces turbulent airflow, and ensures maximum rigidity during prolonged use.
- High-excursion butyl rubber surround and optimised spider: advanced simulation ensures greater linearity and cone control, reducing distortion during intense excursions.
- Installation flexibility: OEM-style and Faston connectors for maximum versatility. Includes two adhesive Audison logo badges.
- Optional black or silver mesh metal grille: robust protection without compromising acoustic performance.
- eID technology: ensures product traceability from production to final owner, guaranteeing authenticity and security.
Give sound its true voice
"Audison Voce II, the second generation of our iconic VOCE speakers, challenged us to rethink how we design, test, and manufacture speakers. We've revamped materials, supply chains, assembly techniques, and packaging. Our goal was to 'unlearn' to innovate and to 'reinforce our expertise' where we knew we were on the right track. This dedication ensures that every aspect of VOCE II meets the sophisticated demands of today's car audio enthusiasts." Luca Girotti, Audison Technical Director
AV 6.5 II mid-bass
The AV 6.5 II delivers power and control across bass and mid frequencies. Rated at 150 W RMS, it suits builds requiring extended frequency response with powerful dynamics free of distortion.
Powerful motor for better performance
The AV 6.5 P II uses a powerful magnetic motor with a T-shaped pole piece incorporating an aluminium ring. This minimises distortion during high excursions and linearises frequency response for superior clarity. Magnetic assembly geometry was optimised using FEM (Finite Element Method) simulation software, concentrating the magnetic field in the voice coil for improved efficiency and dynamic, distortion-free sound reproduction.
Minimum inductance for an extended frequency response
Research focused on reducing voice coil inductance modulation. By magnetically saturating the motor pole and using a copper short-circuit ring for mid-range and an aluminium short-circuit ring for mid-bass, greater extension towards midrange frequencies was achieved.
40 mm CCAW voice coil
The 40 mm CCAW (copper-clad aluminium wire) voice coil ensures linear response across the full low- and mid-frequency spectrum. The AV 6.5 P II works seamlessly with a DSP, optimising sound performance in any condition.
OEM and Faston connectors for perfect integration
The AV 6.5 P II is equipped with both an OEM-style automotive connector and traditional Faston connectors, giving the installer maximum flexibility. This simplifies installation and supports both sound performance and clean vehicle integration.
Die-cast aluminium basket: engineered for optimal aerodynamics
The die-cast aluminium basket features four pairs of spokes designed to provide a rigid structure while minimising airflow resistance around the cone. The cone can move freely, improving response and reducing unwanted resonances in mid frequencies. Multiple holes prevent air compression under the spider and ensure optimal decompression of the air column inside the voice coil.
Semi-pressed pulp cone for superior sound performance
The cone, made from semi-pressed pulp with cotton fibres, offers low density and high mechanical damping for a smooth frequency response across all listening positions. Using finite element calculation methods, the R&D team achieved an extremely rigid structure that shifts cone vibration modes to higher frequencies, keeping the entire midrange free from distortion and irregularities.

About the Audison AV 6.5 P II
From our tech experts at CEN
Audison Voce midbass drivers, 6.5 inch, 4 ohm, handling 150w RMS, built to cover one band in a multi-way front stage.
Who it suits
Drivers building an active or multi-way system where each driver has a defined job and a processor sets the crossover points. Voce sits above Prima and is where the range starts to reward a processor and proper amplification.
Our tech experts advise
Drivers like this assume amplification and processing: the crossover points and mounting locations matter as much as the hardware. get in touch and we will help specify the front stage. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will these speakers fit my car?
A: Most car speakers are standard sizes, but mounting depth and fitting rings vary by vehicle. Check the size in the Specification tab against your vehicle, or contact CEN with your registration and we will confirm fitment and any adapters or fitting kits you need.
Q: Do I need an amplifier to run these speakers?
A: Not always. Most speakers will run from a standard head unit, but a dedicated amplifier lets them perform at their best, particularly for component sets and higher power handling models. The RMS figure in the Specification tab is the guide to how much clean power they can use.
Q: What is the difference between coaxial and component speakers?
A: Coaxial speakers combine the tweeter and woofer in one unit for a simple like-for-like upgrade. Component sets separate the tweeter and woofer with a crossover for better imaging and detail, and suit installs where sound quality is the priority.
Q: Do these come as a pair?
A: Unless stated otherwise, car speakers are sold in pairs. Check the product title and What's Included tab, which lists exactly what is in the box.
Q: Can CEN fit these speakers for me?
A: Yes. CEN offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises. Contact us to book an installation slot or ask for a fitting quote.
Q: What is the power handling of the Audison AV 6.5 P II?
A: The AV 6.5 P II is rated at 150 W continuous (RMS) and 300 W peak, with a 4 ohm nominal impedance and 3.1 ohm minimum impedance.
Q: Do the AV 6.5 P II woofers need a low-pass filter?
A: Often not. The woofer rolls off naturally at off-axis positions, which removes the need for a low-pass filter in most door installations. A gentle 6 dB/octave filter can be used to enhance low and mid-bass.
Q: What connectors do the AV 6.5 P II woofers use?
A: They have both an OEM-style automotive connector and traditional Faston connectors, and a plug and play cable is included in the box along with a fixing kit and Audison badges.
