About the Astell&Kern AKP07
From our tech experts at CEN
The Astell&Kern A&ultima SP3000 in Silver is the flagship player in a bright stainless finish, otherwise identical to the Black version. Inside are two AKM AK4191 modulators and four AK4499EX DACs, 256GB of storage with microSD up to 1TB, and a 5.46-inch Full HD touchscreen. It plays PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512.
Who it suits
Serious listeners with quality in-ears or efficient headphones who want the best Astell&Kern makes, carried in a 904L stainless steel body. The Black SP3000 is the same player if you prefer a darker look.
Our tech experts advise
Output is 3.3Vrms unbalanced and 6.3Vrms balanced, so use the 4.4mm or 2.5mm balanced sockets for the most headroom. Fit a supplied screen protector straight away. Battery life is about 10 hours. For harder-to-drive headphones, the KANN MAX offers more power. Browse our Astell&Kern collection.
