S-Series 20cm (8") Component 2-Way Speakers

The Next-Generation S2-S80C delivers a new standard in entry-level sound performance. Alpine used a lightweight woofer cone combining polypropylene, glass fibre, and mica for high output and low distortion. Increased magnet sizes improve power handling and mid-bass performance.

HAMR Surround

Alpine's exclusive High Amplitude Multi-Roll (HAMR) surround allows maximum cone movement for powerful, accurate bass. A 2.5cm (1") dome tweeter handles clear high-frequency detail, with in-line crossovers making installation straightforward — including at home.

Hi-Res Audio Certified

Drawing on technology from Alpine's Ultra-High-Resolution AlpineF#1Status system, the S2-S80C is Hi-Res Audio certified and reproduces up to 40kHz, delivering more accurate, natural sound at an entry-level price.

Clean, Accurate Audio

The polypropylene, glass-fibre, and mica cone construction keeps weight low while maximising output and minimising distortion for a clean, accurate listening experience.

Made for S-Series Amps & Subs

The S2-S80C is designed to pair with Alpine's S-Series amplifiers and subwoofers, making it easy to build a complete, great-sounding system with Hi-Res Audio capability without overspending.

About the Alpine S2-S65

From our tech experts at CEN

An 8 inch component set, with separate tweeters you can mount higher in the door or pillar, rated at 85w RMS. Component sets sound better because the tweeter can be aimed towards your ears rather than firing into your knees.

Who it suits

Drivers who want the best result from a door upgrade and are happy for tweeters to be mounted separately, which usually means a professional fit. At 85w RMS these deserve an amplifier rather than running from the head unit.

Our tech experts advise

Speaker sizes, adapter rings and harnesses vary by vehicle, year and trim, so we check what your car takes before ordering rather than guessing. Door treatment matters as much as the speaker. Installation is priced per vehicle, so get in touch with your make, model and year and we will confirm what it needs and what the work involves. See car audio installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will these speakers fit my car?

A: Most car speakers are standard sizes, but mounting depth and fitting rings vary by vehicle. Check the size in the Specification tab against your vehicle, or contact CEN with your registration and we will confirm fitment and any adapters or fitting kits you need.

Q: Do I need an amplifier to run these speakers?

A: Not always. Most speakers will run from a standard head unit, but a dedicated amplifier lets them perform at their best, particularly for component sets and higher power handling models. The RMS figure in the Specification tab is the guide to how much clean power they can use.

Q: What is the difference between coaxial and component speakers?

A: Coaxial speakers combine the tweeter and woofer in one unit for a simple like-for-like upgrade. Component sets separate the tweeter and woofer with a crossover for better imaging and detail, and suit installs where sound quality is the priority.

Q: Do these come as a pair?

A: Unless stated otherwise, car speakers are sold in pairs. Check the product title and What's Included tab, which lists exactly what is in the box.

Q: Can CEN fit these speakers for me?

A: Yes. CEN offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises. Contact us to book an installation slot or ask for a fitting quote.

Q: What mounting depth and cutout do the S2-S80C woofers need?

A: The woofers need a 178.4mm cutout and 66.4mm mounting depth. The tweeters need a 51mm flush-mount cutout and 17.6mm depth.

Q: How much power can the Alpine S2-S80C handle?

A: They are rated at 85W RMS and 260W peak, with a 4 ohm impedance.

Q: What tweeters come with the S2-S80C?

A: It uses 2.5cm (1-inch) dome tweeters in a swivel housing, connected with in-line crossovers.
