Ultra-Shallow Design and Powerful Bass Output

RS-W10D2 10” (25cm) R-Series Shallow Subwoofer with Dual 2-Ohm Voice Coils

The New R-Series Shallow Subwoofers

With an ultra-shallow subwoofer design and powerful sound output, the R-Series Shallow Subwoofers give you the best of both worlds in size and sound.

More bass with less space - Alpine’s new Shallow R-Series rise to the top, giving you extraordinary bass performance in an ultra-compact form to suit and fit into virtually any application.

Alpine takes compact bass to the next level with a state-of-the-art design coupled engineering innovation to accomplish an ultra-shallow profile without compromising on bass level output and quality in anyway. An exclusive dual gap motor structure combined with a powerful neodymium magnet allows for high power handling of 600 Watts RMS and 1800 Watts max. Moreover, with its bespoke cast aluminum frame and ground-breaking woofer cone design enables an incredibly linear X-max of 20mm ensuring the best possible bass performance.

Ultra-Shallow Design

For those looking to add powerful, hard-hitting bass performance to their vehicle but lack the space to add a subwoofer, Alpine’s R-Series Shallow Subwoofer delivers the same fun and loud sound you’ve come to expect, now in a shallow subwoofer that’s designed to fit in most vehicle applications.

Extreme Output

Don’t let the size fool you – the R-Series Shallow Subwoofers feature the same cone movement (20mm of excursion) as the full-size R2-Series Subwoofers for extreme output in a shallow woofer design. At the heart of the R-Series Shallow Subwoofers is an oversized 4-inch (10cm) voice coil that is controlled by a powerful neodymium magnet for 600W RMS of power handling.

Powerful Bass Projection

A light weight yet rigid aluminium dust cap allows the R-Series Shallow Subwoofer to transition sound quickly with minimal distortion and project the bass off the surface off the speaker for hard-hitting yet smooth bass performance.

Precise Bass Control

Alpine’s Gen2 DD-Linear Magnetic Circuit technology, a compact and efficient dual-gap voice coil structure allows for better and linear control over the motor, resulting in lower distortion and precise bass control.

Premium Construction

The R-Series Shallow Subwoofers are built with a die-cast aluminium frame for a rigid and sturdy construction to ensure high energy transfer and to mitigate any resonance of the frame.

FAQs
Q: Do I need an amplifier for this subwoofer?

A: Yes, unless it is an active (powered) subwoofer with a built-in amplifier. Passive subwoofers need an external amplifier matched to the RMS power and impedance shown in the Specification tab.

Q: What size enclosure does this subwoofer need?

A: The recommended enclosure volume is listed in the Specification tab where the manufacturer provides it. As a rule, sealed enclosures give tighter, more accurate bass while ported enclosures deliver more output. Contact CEN if you would like a recommendation for your build.

Q: What does RMS power mean?

A: RMS is the continuous power a subwoofer can handle, and it is the number that matters when matching an amplifier. Peak or max figures describe short bursts only. Match your amplifier output to the RMS rating in the Specification tab.

Q: Sealed or ported enclosure - which should I choose?

A: Sealed boxes are compact and produce tight, controlled bass suited to sound quality builds. Ported boxes are larger and produce more output at low frequencies, suited to those who want maximum impact. Either works well when built to the recommended volume.

Q: Can CEN build or supply an enclosure and fit everything?

A: Yes. CEN supplies enclosures and offers professional installation from our Nottingham premises, including amplifier wiring. Contact us to discuss your build.
