The Motor 4 includes a built-in DAB/DAB+ tuner, an AM/FM tuner with 30 presets, and a built-in amplifier rated at 25W RMS x 4 channels. If your vehicle currently uses an AM/FM aerial, the RetroSound DAB1 Splitter Antenna Adapter can add DAB reception without replacing your existing aerial.

Our tech experts advise
This unit is compatible with 12V negative ground vehicles only. Assembly is required, as the modular design allows for adjustable fitment; bezels, knobs, faceplates and mounting hardware are sold separately. If your car has an existing AM/FM aerial, a DAB splitter antenna adapter is needed to add DAB reception. Installation is priced per vehicle — see our car audio installation service for details.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will this stereo fit my car?
A: Most vehicles need a fascia panel, wiring harness and sometimes a steering wheel control interface to fit a new stereo. Contact CEN with your make, model and year and we will confirm the exact installation kit needed, or browse our Connects 2 installation kits.
Q: Will I keep my steering wheel controls?
A: Yes, in almost all cases. A steering wheel control interface retains your existing buttons with the new stereo. Parts are sold separately.
Q: Does this stereo support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto?
A: Check the Specification tab, which lists smartphone connectivity for each model including whether CarPlay and Android Auto are wired or wireless on that unit.
Q: What is the difference between single DIN and double DIN?
A: DIN refers to the chassis size. Single DIN units are the traditional slim format, while double DIN units are twice the height and typically carry a touchscreen. Your vehicle's dash aperture and fascia kit determine which fits.
Q: Can CEN supply and fit the stereo?
A: Yes. CEN offers professional supply and installation from our Nottingham premises, including fascia, wiring and steering control integration. Contact us for a fitted price.
Q: Does the RetroSound Motor 4 have DAB radio?
A: Yes. The Motor 4 has a built-in DAB/DAB+ tuner alongside an AM/FM RDS tuner with 30 presets.
Q: Will a RetroSound radio work in a positive earth classic car?
A: No. RetroSound radios are only compatible with 12V negative grounding vehicles, with a power requirement of 11.5 to 14.4V.
Q: What is included with the RetroSound Motor 4 Becker-style radio?
A: The chrome/pinstripe face, the Motor 4 unit, mounting brackets, bolts, screws and washers, backstrap, microphone, main wiring harness, speaker harness, power harness, and large and cupped plastic spacers. Bezels, knobs and faceplates beyond this are sold separately.
