About the Pioneer MVH-230BT
From our tech experts at CEN
The Pioneer MVH-230BT is a 1-DIN short chassis mechless car stereo with built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling and audio streaming, a USB input and an RDS FM tuner. It runs a MOSFET 50W x 4 amplifier with a 5-band graphic equaliser, subwoofer control and an RCA pre-out for connecting an external amplifier.
Who it suits
A solid choice for drivers who want Bluetooth and USB media playback without a disc drive, particularly where space behind the dashboard is limited. The short chassis makes installation easier in tighter vehicles. For DAB radio and Spotify Connect in a similar mechless format, consider the Pioneer MVH-S420DAB.
Our tech experts advise
The MVH-230BT fits a standard 1-DIN aperture; most vehicles will also need a fascia adaptor and wiring harness. It includes a wired remote input for steering wheel control, though a dedicated steering wheel interface is usually required for that to function. Installation pricing varies by vehicle — see our car audio installation page for details.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will this stereo fit my car?
A: Most vehicles need a fascia panel, wiring harness and sometimes a steering wheel control interface to fit a new stereo. Contact CEN with your make, model and year and we will confirm the exact installation kit needed, or browse our Connects 2 installation kits.
Q: Will I keep my steering wheel controls?
A: Yes, in almost all cases. A steering wheel control interface retains your existing buttons with the new stereo. Parts are sold separately.
Q: Does this stereo support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto?
A: Check the Specification tab, which lists smartphone connectivity for each model including whether CarPlay and Android Auto are wired or wireless on that unit.
Q: What is the difference between single DIN and double DIN?
A: DIN refers to the chassis size. Single DIN units are the traditional slim format, while double DIN units are twice the height and typically carry a touchscreen. Your vehicle's dash aperture and fascia kit determine which fits.
Q: Can CEN supply and fit the stereo?
A: Yes. CEN offers professional supply and installation from our Nottingham premises, including fascia, wiring and steering control integration. Contact us for a fitted price.
Q: Does the MVH-230BT have DAB radio?
A: No. The MVH-230BT has an RDS FM tuner. It adds Bluetooth hands-free calling, Bluetooth audio streaming and a USB input.
Q: Will the MVH-230BT work with my steering wheel controls?
A: It has a wired remote input for steering wheel controls. A steering wheel control interface for your vehicle is sold separately.
Q: What is in the box with the MVH-230BT?
A: The MVH-230BT head unit, an ISO loom and release keys.
